1. State-Bama 1980- even at 11, I partially understood the significance of the win. I still remember standing and cheering in the stands 20 mins after the game was over

2. SEC Championship game- 1998- Watching us take the field to start that game was probably the happiest moment of my Bulldog life.

3. State-LSU basketball- 1991- winning a share of the basketball title was awesome. I dont think the Hump will ever be louder than it was that day. Plus, having to camp out the night before for seats for the first time in school history just made it that much more crazy.

1. SEC Championship Game - 1998

2. CWS - pick a year/game - they were all awesome and due to alcohol consumption they all blur together .

3. 1998 Arkansas football game

the day that I saw the dude ride out onto Dudy Noble on the tall bike will be hard to top. 95 degrees and the dogpile at the mound and even fans falling over the wall. What a day. Winning that Super is by far my top.

2. Would be the thumping of Vandy in basketball in 07 when they were ranked about 17th in the country.

3. Would be Lawrence Roberts going off on Arkansas his first year at State. He totally owned the paint on both ends. Never saw a man work as hard on both ends of the coart.

1. '98 Arkansas - History in the making.
2. '07 Super Regionals - Total awesomeness
3.'07 Bama - *** kicking at it's finest. 6 years of football frustration being released by 52K+ on AJ's pick-6, along with my "wouldn't it be funny if we could have a goalline stand 2 years in a row against them to end the half?" just before AJ's pick will be something I'll never forget.

'99 LSU and '99 OM run a close 4th. Beating LSU was great, and cemented my undying hatred of them. I'll never forget how the coonasses treated me when I got a ticket that put me in their section, since that was the year before we started buying season tickets. As far as '99 OM goes: Best. Comeback. Ever.

/edited b/c I'm and dubmass who swapped '06 & '07 Bama.

1. 1999 Egg Bowl - As a teenager, I had some Ole Miss students dump and entire whiskey and coke on me at the end.

2. 1996 Win over Bama 17-16 - Still have the chunk of grass I ripped up in the endzone.

3a (tie) 1997 win @ Bama, first time we had won there in forever. My dad and I sat by some of the baseball players: Piatt, Thoms, and some others. Several fights almost started. Nothing like beating Bama @ Bryant-Denny.

Edit 3b. State beats UK - SEC Tourney 07...Now that I think about it, other than 1 and 2, this is probably the most excited I've been at an MSU sporting event. From going to having pretty much no chance, to silencing Big Blue in the Dome.

My current favorite: 07 Bama- I'll always remember the feeling I got watchin AJ run down the sidelines, looking back and seeing Titus giving JPW the "business", throwing my beer all over the girls next to me, and generally not giving a **** about anything else but going nuts.

1. SEC Championship Game - When KP ran that punt back.......what a moment.

2. State/Bama 1996 - It wasn't a great year. But growing up a State fan in Columbus, you develop a intense dislike for the Tiders. To be in the stands and realize it was finally going to happen......after 16 years and so many close loses to them....it was awesome.

3. Egg Bowl 1999 - I had to been to every Egg Bowl since the return to campus but still that was one helluva come back. I will remember that forever.

1) SEC basketball championship over Kentucky in New Orleans (94?)

2) Burke masters Grand Slam over FSU in regionals

3)Upset over Florida when we picked off Shane Matthews 5 or 6 times-(As I recall he was the Heisman favorite prior to that game)

1. 1996 Alabama (this game will always be number 1 on my list. I still have a shrub limb that I ripped down.)

2. 1998 SEC Title football game in Atlanta

3. 2000 Florida in Starkville. There has never been this much electricity in the stadium for such a long period of time as it was on that day.

Honorable Mention: (there's a lot so sue me)

2007 Super Regionals (both games)

1999 Egg Bowl (pick and kick)

1997 @ T-Town (watching JJ run for about 210 on the Tide)

2007 Liberty Bowl (remembering how it felt to win again)

1996 USM vs MSU basketball game in Hattiesburg (place was packed. I was right behind Jack and Ellis. Half the crowd was MSU and the other, buzzards. State was down big late and rallied back to win in OT. That game never gets any mention. I don't think Dontae played at all that game. Williams had benched him.)

2007 Alabama (seeing 3 million dollars run back 100 yards was priceless. The loudest I've ever heard Scott Field.)

'91 State-LSU basketball for a share of the SEC title

EDIT: After the game, I held the ladder as our guys stepped up and cut down the net. Dumb luck being in the right place at the right time. Cool as all get out.

'91 Texas @ MSU - won a hard game against a #13 Texas. It was Jackie's 2nd W overall and his first big W. It was a national statement and set expectations for his tenure.

'99 Ole Miss @ MSU craziest apeshit ending I've ever witnessed (in person) at a football game

Honorable mention:
'89 MSU @ USM MSU defeats Favre in a crazy back & forth game - I think it had each team with back-2-back returns for TD's
'92 UF @ MSU 30-6 *** kicking of Shane Matthews & Steve Spurrier's Gators during their fun & gun prime years
2004 UF @ MSU Zook gets Croomed. This is the biggest upset I've ever witnessed in person.
2007 Bama @ MSU This ranks #1 for sheer ecstasy.

1) The Thursday night beat down of Florida (was in 1992?) It was my first State football game and it turned this 11 year old South Florida transplant into a Bulldog for life.

2) State/Bama 2007, it was my first game back in Starkville in 2 years and it was well worth the price of the plane ticket.

3) The miraculous rally at Coleman Coliseum to win the 2004 SEC Basketball Championship. Thank you Timmy Bowers.

Ill have to go with a few recent ones because they are clearer in my mind. Plus I was in college throughout all of these so it makes it that much more special.

1) Has to be beating BAMA in 07. I will never forget that day. I feel like the MSU football program just took all their frustrations out on one team in one game. I'm so glad it was the University of Alabama.

2) 2007 Regional win. I skinned my knees all up jumping over the wall and landing in that crushed rock on the warning track. I remember how #*@*$+@ hot it was and how bad we needed that win. It was real real hot that summer and I was staying in Starkville for some reason. It was almost like a football weekend in the middle of summer. Starkville really needed that game to get the summer going right. I remember singing "go state" over and over again at Mugshots that night.

3) 2007 OMAHA!!! There were two things my dad wanted to do in his life. One was go to the masters and the other was go to the college world series. Thanks to some luck and LT's selection power, he got to do both. I went to Omaha and it might have been one of the best experiences of my life.

Honorable Mention: 2008 thumping of Ole Miss in the Hump, 2007 Egg bowl, Beating the **** out of Vandy in the Hump, the Florida basketball game (even though we lost), thumping BAMA in the last game of 2007 in the Hump, Burke Masters grand slam

1. 1996 SEC Tournament Title game ( an easy number one. Really the whole weekend. It was over as soon as Dontae' made the first jumper from the left corner of the lane)

2. 1996 Alabama - Still have part of the south goalpost

3. 1995 Auburn - To win the West for the first time. Standing 3 feet from Bubba Wilson as he hit a long two (foot on the line) as the buzzer sounded.

1. The 1996 Bama game. My recent YouTube viewing might be influencing my vote.
2. The 98 Ark game or the 99 Egg bowl
3. The 2001 basketball comeback vs. UK. I convinced my friends to stick around until the end.
honorable mention goes to the 2000 Florida domination. That was just fun to be a part of, plus I have a chunk of the goalpost on my mantle now. Or the 89 USM game that FlabLoser mentioned since it was my first MSU game ever.

I agree on the Kentucky basketball comeback. We got down like 21-2 early on in the game. Mario Austin hit a 3 at the buzzer, I think, to send the game to OT. We put them away in OT. The Clarion Ledger read, "STATEment Game" the next day. Awesome win.

hmm... Too many, but if I had to choose just three I'd go with:

3. MSU Clemson game 2. Always good to be a part of a record.
2. 1998 Miss. State Arkansas
1. 1998 SEC Championship game.

1976 Polk's first season; baseball vs Ole Miss, night game. We were way down early and most of the fans left but were still listening on the radio as they drove away. State started to rally and the cars started turning around coming back to the park. Darnedest thing I have seen at a stadium, car lights headed back
to the parking lot for the last inning or 2. Forgot the final but State won.

1980 football vs. Alabama, a classic

2007 vs Alabama, first football game on campus in over 20 years, well worth the trip.

1) 1990 Baseball win over Florida State
2) 1992 Football win over Florida (the "We want Shane!" chant, hope we can do that to Garrett eventually)
3) 1997 Baseball win over Washington (playing back thru the loser's bracket)

Honorable Mentions:
-1985 CWS (I was really too young to remember alot, but I do remember get my hopes crushed)
-1999 Egg Bowl, or the whole '99 season for that matter

1. 2007 - MSU 19, Auburn 14. Walking out of a stunned silent Jordan Hare Stadium with 6 years of frustration melting away.
2. MSU over Kentucky in OT at the 2007 SEC Tournament
3. 2007 Super Regional

1. SEC Championship Game - 1998 --- Will I live long enough to see us in another one? I doubt it.

2. 1980 Win over Bama 10-3 --- Greatest win in MSU history without a doubt.

3. 2007 Super Regional

was the crowd yelling "noooo!" then "yesss!" when Mario shot that 3 to tie it.

My 3:

1) 2004 Basketball vs. Auburn. Clinching at least a share of the SEC Championship after the football season we had was just a fantastic feeling. We were beyond terrible in football, but here we were with a chance at winning the outright basketball title over Kentucky.

2) 2007 Liberty Bowl. After 6 long bowl-less seasons, we finally went back to postseason play. The drive in sucked, getting to our seats sucked, but watching us win was fantastic. It wasn't pretty but it sure was sweet.

3) 2004 Football vs. UF. Why this game? Well, we had already lost to Maine, had 3 seasons of 3 wins or less and were well on our way to a 4th, and were given no chance against the Gators. Jeramie Johnson with the big pick. Norwood with the fantastic run. The goalposts coming down. It was a great moment after a ton of football frustration.

1) 1992 vs. Florida -- 30 - 6 asskicking on national TV. Only bad thing was losing Sleepy for the year.
2) 1998 @ Ole Miss -- 28-6 win sewed up our 1st (and only to date) SEC Championship game appearance.
3) 2000 vs. Florida -- 3rd and 57. The stadium was so loud I couldn't hear myself think.

Honorable Mentions:
2000 vs. Auburn
1991 vs. Texas
1994 @ Tulane -- Ok yeah it's Tulane but we racked up 66 points, that's the most effective I've ever seen a Bulldog offense be.

Yeah I forgot about that. The crowd was yelling NO like crazy and Austin just launched it. The place went ape **** and I in the student section went ape ****. I wasn't even a student there. I've had so many great memories at MSU games, it's hard to pick a top 3.

No. 1: The 1999 MSU v. Bama Football Game. Yeah, we lost, but it was a first class fist fight. Before the game, the Bama folks all talked about how important it was for them to beat MSU. After the game, they were all talking about how they were "back" because they had beaten MSU. I did not know it at the time, but we had peaked under Jackie. Damn, I miss the 90's.

No. 2: The 1996 Egg Bowl. The rain. The mud. The sacks. The two point conversion as time expired (not because we needed the points, but because we could). Thanks Jackie.

No. 3: The 1991 MSU v. Auburn Football Game. Kenny Roberts on the toss sweep for the go ahead touchdown late in the game.

1. '96 State vs. Cinn in Lexington to go to Final Four
2. '96 State vs. UConn to go to Elite 8
3. '98 SEC Championship game vs. UT

We lived in Nashville at the time a group from Jackson came through and picked us up and we headed to Lexington. We all took enough clothes but everybody (women included) wore the same thing to the Cincinnati game that we wore to the UConn game...not superstitious...just cautious. Being about 60 miles away, Cincinnati must have had 18,000 people there to our 2,000. Needless to say, they were shocked. I still can't believe how freshman Tyrone Washington came off the bench and manned up in that atmosphere. Fortson and company were in disbelief. Ray Allen?? Just unbelievable. I hope there is something on the horizon that competes with that memory, I can't describe how incredible it was.

1. 1980 - MSU v. Alabama football.

Beating Bama. Priceless.

2. 1991 - MSU v. LSU basketball.

Spending the night before the game at the Hump. I missed Jackie bringing food for the folks in line. I was relieved a little after 7 a.m.

3. 1990 - MSU v. Florida State baseball.

Not the regional championship game even though I was there. As magical as it was, seeing Burke Masters going 6-for-6 and hitting the grand slam in the first game still makes me smile.

2000 MSU v. Florida (FB)
--My first home game as an MSU student, still haven't been to a football game THAT loud, and I've been to College Station twice...

2001 MSU vs. Kentucky (BB)
--Down 23 at half, still down 20+ at the under 16 timeout... then Mario's game tying three... unreal...

2003 MSU vs. Oklahoma (BB)
--Being from Oklahoma and a born Sooner, I actually took a lot of grief from OU fans leading up to that game... OU was coming off a Final Four appearance and has everyone back... and we flat out whipped their *** in New Orleans... held them to 45 if I remember correctly... it was great being home during that Christmas break wearing maroon and white around my OU friends and family...

1. Egg Bowl this year. Oddly enough it was my first Egg Bowl to attend in person. I typically go hunting with the men of the family for Thanksgiving weekend. It's a family tradition but I bit the bullet and stuck around for the game this year. I can promise you that mid-way through the third quarter I was wondering what was standing out in my foodplot. Glad I stayed til the end.

2. 2007 Super Regionals. Both games were awesome. The last at bat in the second game was one of the most tense moments I have experienced in sports.

3. OM basketball game at home this year. Man handling them after all of the **** talked about our unimpressive start to the season was a great sign for things to come. It was also my wife's first experience of the OM/MSU rivalry in person. Needless to say I don't have to worry about finding someone to go to basketball games with anymore. By the end of the season she was yelling with me at the radio when we would listen to away games. Good times.
