Like many of the talking heads on Gameday, I like Beamer and think that he has great HC potential. Some of those dudes really like what he's doing here, including Saban. I also still feel that Beamer really doesn't know the Xs and Os like an HC needs to. Or at least the awareness of what the play call should be in many important situations. What's for sure is that Beamer is a people person. He really enjoys (and wants to be involved with) his players on an emotional level... think "creating a family culture."

And... is that enough to make this team into a winner? I fully believe that it would have been in the years when you needed players to buy in to your school and your culture. That doesn't mean much now - just look at what's happened to Clemson. Now the "best" players look at what they can get from your school. Juice UNLV-d us last year without actually saying he was doing it. Stewart is most likely gone if this team even goes 7-5.

So... a big part of me wants to hang onto Beamer. He loves being here and loves our university. We gave him his first real big opportunity and he's the kind of guy that will be eternally grateful for it. The other part of me wonders if he's the kind of guy who can make the tough decisions to make this program into a winner (so far, the jury is definitely out). Stewart should have been benched after the shotgun celebration (his 2nd on the year), for example.

What you think?

I like Beamer well enough but that crap on Saturday won't cut it.

There is a theme that has emerged from Beamer's teams and that theme is: unprepared.

Far too often we just look unprepared. Granted, I didn't see any of our game on Saturday until midway through the 3rd quarter, but we looked as sloppy and undisciplined as I've seen us look.

That is coaching.

The unpreparedness was on the OC and an offensive plan seems to be consistently lacking. He needs to be replaced.

While I don't disagree with you, would you have faith in Beamer to make the right hire should he choose to make a change? At this point, I don't. Another thing you have to ask yourself is who is going to want to come here and work for a guy that will most likely be on the hot seat and end up having to look for a job and move again?

It's not just the offense but it's certainly no where close to where it needs to be. The defensive penalties really ticked me off Saturday .You had 4 offsides penalties on hard counts. That's ridiculous. You had blown coverages and the dumb celebration stuff. Defense is close to being darn good, but those things especially the offsides and celebrations are totally unacceptable.

The first few sentences seem off to me. These guys like what Beamer is doing at Carolina, except the coaching part?

If they mean they like his passion, his "family" approach, etc, that's fine. But those take a very distant back seat to the actual coaching part.

I agree the OC is struggling. But do we trust Beamer to pick another one? He's had two bad OC hires in a row.

He hired Kenny Logins despite his spectacular failures. Who is he going to hire next?

Loggains was his own choice, no one had recommended him. Maybe the guy with zero prior head coaching or coordinating experience should listen to advice this time.
