You seem misguided. I never mentioned him being top 3 and I have no clue what the Bart stuff is about although it seems to bother you. Maybe you need a snickers bro because you’re lashing out now at people not even involved. Go to desensitivity class or something.
You seem confused.

The guy I was quoting claimed Kam was better than at least one of Duke’s top three and that’s why I wrote the reply to him that you quoted. Feel free to be out of the loop just don’t try to put it on me.

Why are you whining like a baby about Bart then if you’re trying to exalt Duke? You seem like someone who likes to scream until people don’t want to debate you then think you won. Good luck with that. I don’t have time to hear you cry about people thinking you’re wrong on some Bart guy. You will be my first ignore.

What a sissy baby. If you ever grow up to the point you can handle someone politely pointing out where you insulted them for no reason, come on back and no hard feelings.

Stop being a little B. I called you out. Your first post to me was crying people pick on you over something about Bart and how you are right and everyone else in the world is wrong about top 3 players. It’s your opinion and everyone else
Is entitled to theirs as well. Get over it and stop hikacking the thread. I actually thought I put you on ignore but I can fix that now.

I have no time to watch a grown baby cry. So
you do you but don’t expect me to engage you anymore regardless what you say.

Cal is the best coach in college basketball

He’s taken every school he’s coached to the FF.

Taking UMass to the FF is like taking a high school team there.

No one won there before or after. Cal completely rebuilt the Memphis program.

Then did the same at UK.

Pope has big shoes to fill. I think he’s up to it.

But that does not diminish what the coaches before him did.
I would argue against him being the best coach in CB. With ALL the talent he had at Memphis and Kentucky, he should have had at least another 2-3 NCAA champs. Great recruiter-no doubt. But his x's and O's are very deficient and I think somehow some of his losses in the NCAA tourney are due to his somehow getting his players asses to clinch up during games. A Great coach doesn't lose to Kansas with a 10 pt lead and around 2 minutes to go. A Great coach doesn't lose to Oakland University, St. Peters, etc. He is an average coach, but a Great recruiter of talent. He is stubborn, inflexible, and an egotist. His number one goal is getting kids to the NBA and improving their future earnings-which is all well and good. But as a coach his number one job is to win NCAA championships and even SEC tournaments for the teams he coaches. A Great coach can do both-they are NOT mutually exclusive. The average fan spends thousands of dollars per game in most cases. They should expect a return on this investment. JMHO!

He beat our ‘96 with one player and 4 ball boys.

I know innerweb mantra is that Cal is not a good x and 0 coach

but that doesn’t make it true.

there’s not a coach out there that doesn’t know how to draw up plays.

great coaching is not a flash in the pan or catching lightning in a bottle with a special group of players.

it’s sustained excellence over decades
You know what the difference was, John Robic. As soon as Cal lost him he somehow forgot how to coach in game. That’s not a coincidence.

I definitely think we have a top 5 roster.

If a sophomore was 3rd team All-ACC and went to Duke or Louisville this year, they'd be talking about how he's the next great ACC guard. He left the conference and instead he's trash.

Aberdeen has Final 4 and championship experience. Florida was counting on him to be a starter this year. He played behind two amazing guards in Walter Clayton Jr. and Alyjah Martin. Jeff Goodman the other day on Fo68 said "Let's not pretend he's Walter Clayton Jr." No one is pretending that. But he's an SEC experienced guard who has made winning plays on the biggest stage.

Oweh will be pre-season All-SEC and likely pre-season All-American.

Dioubate would have been one of Alabama's best players this year. He can defend 1-4. He just gets rebounds and buckets.

JQ was all-defensive team in the Big 12 last year. He JUST turned 18.

Jasper will be an explosive scorer off the bench.
Chandler started playing solid defense and making 3's late
Kam Williams is a 40% 3 point shooter with crazy athleticism, NBA lottery upside
Jelavic is a skilled big
BG would start for a lot of teams in the country.

Noah sounds like he's going to force his way onto the floor with his shooting. Great hustle/rebounding guy last year.

Moreno and Reese Potter give us silly depth in regards to bigs.

Hawthorne s probably a project guy, but that's your 13th or 14th man.
Hawthorne may be good enough to crack the rotation as well, that’s what is crazy. I personally hope he is because he gives us crazy size on the perimeter.

Whole lotta truth to this. The whole Robic thing is just so sad on so many levels, not the least of which is obviously the family/personal tragedies. But the professional effect is real and undeniable.

Popes offense will develop game after game; iam excited to see an athletic defense take the court and be a difference maker.
I'm super curious to see how the offense evolves with this group. If all are healthy, this roster seems to have much more off the dribble ability and rim finishers than last year (and any other team Pope has ever coached). I expect you will see more on ball screens than Pope's offenses have shown in the past. I've followed his Zoom action stuff for years, and honestly there were way more on ball screens last year than any other Pope team I can remember. I think a lot of that had to do with Amari and his lack of ability to shoot the 3, but I also think it had a lot to do with the supreme athleticism in the SEC last season as well.
