I DO agree that the crowd at Wells Fargo Center is shortsighted when it comes to Crosby. He plays better and harder as those stupid chants of “Cindy” rain down on him.

The Pittsburgh Pipers were the ABA champions in 1968. Now, 50 years later, the players reflect on their time on the team — a footnote in steel city sports history

Member Eric Lindros???

Man, Stevens was a dirty goon.

He was not a goon nor dirty. That’s the way hockey was played in those days. Lindros had the bad habit of keeping his head down which made him susceptible to hits like that. Darius Kaspairitis hit on Lindros was before the Stevens hit. Don’t think Lindros didn’t dish out hits like that too

And here are some “clean” hits from Lindros
. It was the way of the NHL then

Pro sports are a "what have you done for me lately" business. So yes, Phillies > Pirates. Eagles > Steelers. And yes, lately Penguins > Flyers.

The OP threw a blanket over being a fan of all pro sports so he'll lose his argument. Apparently he was triggered by a hockey game. But at least Pittsburgh pro sports fans will always be able to brag about the four roid assisted Super Bowl wins from the 70s and reminisce about We Are Family from 1979.

Hardly triggered…just more of decades of the same.…and amused by tbe futility of Philly pro sports…Steelers have more Super Bowls since the 70s than Philly has in their history. Pirates suck and will continue to suck with current ownership…but still historically better than Phillies and it’s not even close. Pens are a premiere NHL franchise since #66 came to town.

Just 'roids, huh? The Steelers didn't have great drafts and a handful of generational players or anything. Just steroids.

Meanwhile the only eagle anyone knows from the 70's is that one fat talking head. Because their roster sucked the whole decade.

At least Philly is a vibrant east coast city with other entertainment options instead of a sleepy midwestern city that shuts down at 6 pm
