I really don't get this situation at all. It was transparently a money grab and he very clearly innocent, but for some reason he's essentially banned from MLB for life.

I'm not a legal experts but I wonder if Bauer has any recourse against MLB. He lost over two years+ of his career and many million dollars. He may still be toxic to MLB and may cost him the balance of his career.

Matt Araiza is in the same boat. His situation is still pending a civil suit, but there's no reason to think he won't be cleared there. Authorities have already revealed he was not even present at the time. Even when he is fully cleared, teams are very likely to steer clear simply b/c of public opinion.

It really is bizarre to me that someone can basically tell a lie to totally ruin another person's life, deprive them of millions of dollars of earnings, put them in peril of going to jail, ruin their reputation for life, but when it's shown to be all made up, the accuser walks away scot-free with no repercussions. And it seems to be happening more frequently.

This is the end result of #metoo and #believeallwomen. They tried to do it against Kavanaugh when he was never even in the same room as that woman. And they ruined Cosby and Danny Masterson even though the allegations were over 20 years old with zero evidence either actually committed the crimes. We have no justice system in the US.

and it men's (simps) fault. Too many guys want to be on the side of women instead of the side of right. What's a few guys getting caught up in the "Me Too Movement". In their minds "it will never happen to me" until it does. This Mel Tucker thing is next. This "Me Too Movement" is becoming akin to a witch hunt to just make any guy you don't like into a predator.

I think MLB needs to take Bauer back immediately and pray that he doesn't sue them. MLB rushed to judgment because they didn't want to have a Ray Rice situation on their hands and probably cost this guy 50-60 million dollars. This is why police departments, etc. suspend with pay until they can be reasonably sure that someone involved with their entity is guilty.

Why would you sleep with someone you're not married too. If you're single and rich, find you someone who wants to date, without sex, sleep overs etc. He is a target and thus got shot right between the eyes. It's his fault for allowing this to happen in the first place.

I am not a Trevor Bauer fan but nobody deserves this, regardless of his actions.

You know, this is so true. It’s become commonplace in situations like this for people to say “even if he’s not guilty of a crime, he did some scummy stuff.”

I can’t imagine the nasty things I’d be involved with if I were single, that rich, and that famous. It wouldn’t be pretty, and my career would last about 69 days.

I'm 56 and times were much different even in my day. I pray for my son in these times. I have done divorce work for 30 years and you would be shocked at the lies women tell to get at the money. The husband "sexually abused" my child lie is a common one when the woman is not getting her way in divorce proceedings. These lies have just spread to pre-marriage now especially in dealings with young men that came into some money. I swear I don't even know if I would get married in this climate. It's just bad. That is why you have a lot of guys getting their passport and marrying women from outside this country. Most American women are not being taught to be responsible. These type of women want all the perks of equality without any of the responsibility that comes with that. They want your money, but don't want to pay significant bills with their money. 50% of First Marriages end in Divorce now and that Divorce rate gets worse with second marriages (about 65%). Of those marriages, 80% of the divorces are initiated by the females. The laws are just set up that don't provide incentive for men to get married.

He had certain proclivities in the bedroom obviously. He should have a small group of women who are in agreement with such, and kept it within that circle. You don't do these things with random women you just meet.

I can't stand him and hope he never pitches again. And I'll NEVER forget him crying in the dugout in 2010.

The Dodgers were still paying him $22.5 Million as of February of this year. No one claimed him off waivers when we released him. We were still on the hook for his salary.

These knee-jerk and groundless ruinations of people need to bring severe financial and legal repercussions.

To be fair, that was not Trevor but Gerrit Cole crying in the dugout after being pulled from the game.

AFTER the game was over Trevor was crying.

Also Cole pitched Game 1. Rasmussen pitched Game 2.

Yep...maybe some payback for all the years prior to 1980 when men could leave a woman and his children behind with no financial consequences. Could be that Karma is righting the wrongs of how women were treated in the past. I go back to what i originally said, WHY WOULD YOU SLEEP WITH SOMEONE WHOM YOU"RE NOT MARRIED TOO?

Life is about choices AND choices have consequences!!!!

Baseball is American as Apple Pie. Maybe MLB wants players who have morals. Dumb choice for him but he has to live with the consequences. And no, I don't feel bad for a multi-millionaire baseball player who got played.

You don’t have to be married to be in a committed sexual relationship, between consenting adults.

Theoretically, a person can have anything he/she wants any way he/she wants it. But that doesn't make all ways equally prudent.

You don’t have to be by law, but morally it ends up being the better idea doesn’t it? Boy, hate it when those kooks and their Bible thumping are right….

I don't see how punishing this generation for what the previous generation did is Karma. Karma gets the same person. I guess you have already written your reparations check.

Well I am a Christian. The difference is I know I’m not perfect nor do I claim to be. I don’t care what others do in their bedroom, nor should anyone care what I do in mine. It’s not anyone’s place to judge either.

Gotcha. I thought he was suspended w/o pay.
He may have been but once he won the appeal we had to pay for the reinstated games. And since no one claimed him, we still had to pay him for 2023. It put us over the salary tax threshold or some such thing.
