2. Why hasn't Midnighter posted a feminine pulchritude poll lately? Is that banned here?

3. What ever happened to Tom's epic "Looks like It's cold out" thread?

I don’t feel like the polls are very popular which is why I don’t do them. It takes some time to put together and just not as much engagement with them from folks as in previous years. Same with the Midnighter Bar. I’ll try to do more in ‘24!

It’s called “life”. Being an actively engaged parent consumes more hours in a day than a parent has available.

Being an effective rearer is far more important than polls or cocktail menus.

PPB: My guess is that both Tom and Midnighter were effective parents both before and after they discontinued the threads in question. And really, the question was directed more to them than you. But I have no doubt you are an effective rearer.

The Subject line was "Today's weather report" I posted this in the thread on 4/18/23:

"Hey guys, I'm giving you a heads up that this thread is going to be deleted. I contributed a great deal to the thread, so I'm not very enthusiastic about removing the thread.

There are lots of moving parts that control some of these decisions.

So, I'm giving you a last chance to go through the thread and enjoy it.

I'll be deleting it around 6 pm EDT on 4/19.

I doubt this will be a popular action; not really anything I can do about that."

I'm pretty sure you're asking about the Santa Elves thread. It has never been an annual event. I remember the first time I posted it, many years ago, and it was surprising how difficult it was to find pics that matched the theme, and that were also suitable for posting.

In the years that I did make the post, I'd first look for pics that met the aforementioned criteria, and then I'd check the prior posts on the subject to make sure I wasn't repeating pics. I haven't made such a post since we moved to On3. Only time will tell if/when I make such a post in a future December.

Tom: The one I'm thinking of was (I'm fairly certain) called "A Booby Christmas," and the OP had a link to a website that, when you opened it up, had a photo of what looked like a gingerbread house, with a separate "door" (i.e., link) for each day from December 1 to December 25. When you "opened the door" (i.e., clicked on the link), it revealed a photo of a rather "well situated" young female. You had to wait for the appointed calendar date to arrive to open its corresponding door.

LOL, I can't be the only poster who remembers this.

It was a Mammary Christmas Advent Calendar! Ah well we are all getting older and forget s***!
