This is best case scenario. I see no way getting bumped out of 4 after we win out.

If Indiana beats OSU (I think OSU wins comfortably), IU will jump over us and there's a chance OSU stays above us on the basis of their head-to-head win.
OSU is going to curb stomp IU.

Umm, I guess you haven’t watched ole miss the last two weeks?
Maybe. But they only own one win over a team with an above .500 record. (Nebraska 5-4). It will sort itself out soon enough.
It's the playoffs, there are no chumps. Having said that, hosting a 2 loss SEC team in December sounds like as good of an advantage as we can expect.
...assuming PSU players don't opt out.
I would hope our guys have enough integrity and character to play through the playoffs. As for the non-playoff Bowl Games, they've just become even more meaningless than they were before and I expect opt outs to go through the roof for those teams. Hopefully we don't have to worry about that.
Hope you're right on this, but I'm hoping Ohio State takes care of Indiana. Gives them a loss and it lessens the negative impact of our loss to OSU.
Penn State would not beat Ole Miss.
That's your opinion and you're entitled to it.
In my opinion, Ole Miss has already lost to 2 teams who aren't as good as PSU in 3-6 Kentucky and 6-3 LSU, so it's not a foregone conclusion. In my opinion we were the better team last year and we would have beaten them if not for our entire Secondary deciding not to play. We're a better team this year than we were last year and I don't know that Ole Miss is better this year than last year.

Kiffin has a good offensive mind and his offenses could be very problematic for our defense providing we don't have defectors.

There are alot of good coaches. Smart is dealing with internal problems. Also, his QB is average at best IMO.
The Big2 administration will never let OSU lose…O’Neill and Witvoet will be on the field… book it!
They also laid an egg against Kentucky and lost to an average LSU team. They can be cold as quickly as they can get hot.

More than likely, PSU should get a home playoff game (unless PSU pulls a 1999 season ending 0 for three) The last game is 11/30 at home vs Maryland.
Would you prefer PSU play a Friday night game on 12/20 (assume an SEC team), or would you rather a 12 noon game on 12/21 (also assume an SEC team)?
I think a night game on Friday would be great. It would not compete with anything else (I don't think the top 20 men's hoops are playing on a Friday, and the NFL has not resorted to Friday games at that time). Also pretty sure HS football is done.
Edit - just checked the NFL schedule. If your are a fan of the Steelers, Ravens, Chiefs, or Texans, it is feasible that if PSU gets a Sat game, you would have to split your time between watching your favorite NFL team and the Nittany Lions. Houston and KC are at 1 PM and Pittsburgh and Baltimore are at 430. Also, PSU men's hoops plays at Drexel on 12/21 at 12 noon.

I think it's an easy call as well, but I can also tell you that people I know who have season tix (and should get tix for this game) are dreading the thought of trying to get up to SC after working to make it for an 8 PM kickoff. Having a 12 noon kick makes it easier for their travel logistics. But, they have nearly a month to work it out, I suppose.
Of note, that weekend is winter graduation. I'd suggest grabbing whatever rooms are available TODAY.

That might play a part in the day/time of the game also. A Schreyer Medals Ceremony is scheduled on Friday at 5 PM and nothing on Saturday. The larger ceremony is scheduled for Sunday.
