After the first 1/3 of the season, a look back on my preseason thoughts.
- Memphis would make my wool hyper-grow. Check. I fell for it, like a band geek for the head cheerleader. And I knew I would beforehand. I'm so gullible...
- The losses at LB would loom large. Check. Inexperience will kill you in the SEC. I was prepared for this
- The loss at LT would slow us somewhat. Check. Along with the unforeseen injuries, this has been multiplied. (Then again, how can any Tobias Harris, errr Smith injury be unforeseen)
- The passing game would be improved. Unchecked. I was expecting some sort of progression in all phases of the passing game. After week 4, I am underwhelmed. Not just by Relf's regression, but by the inability of our pass catchers to make plays. I suspect it is position coaching, as well as execution.
- Recruiting would improve, after last year's success. Unchecked. I can't look at this until down the road. But as of today, i was expecting a LOT more... I guess we will never have the ABILITY (<<<< Wink, Nudge) to recruit in this conference.
- Final Record for 2011: 5-7 to 7-5. Check. I think we are staring 6-6 right in the face, with a deviation of 1 game to either side.
