No doubt they will be ready for us. And don't expect them to whiff on so many tackles.

If our OL requires LaNorris to break 12 tackles again, we'll be in trouble. Four of the OL had >50 pass blocking grades in the A&M game.

I think so too. Vandy defense isn’t that good though. If we can force them to throw the ball we will blow them out

We will have played at least three teams that are better on the hoof than Vandy. Dealing with that quarterback is the key to everything.

I think our D line will eat him alive all night long. He may not even make it the whole game. (not wishing injury of course)

Is that the year we beat UNC up there before coming home and dying to Vandy the very next week?
That's right. 2007. We led UNC big at halftime, then proceeded to almost blow it in the second half. Lost to Vandy the following week, and went from 6-1 and in the Top 10 to 6-6 and missing out on a bowl. That season went straight down the toilet after halftime of that UNC game.

We did the same thing in 2010 after beating Alabama. We lost to UK the following week, I think

The good news is they won’t sneak up on us. We know they are good. We need Jules back as a run stopper addition in the middle and then tee off on the QB. My company sponsored an NIL event for Pavia and Hubbard, and the TE two weeks ago in Nashville. Don’t hate. Got to drive the business. Aside from being a threat to us you gotta love this kids story. Now just go beat em!!!!!! Anyone have any news on Elijah Davis. Is he red shirting giving us some DT support next year?? We have zero DTs signed in the class of 25’. Portal in about 6 hopefully, proven studs.

Vandy's offense has not cracked 300 yards in their last 3 SEC games. They barely cracked 200 against Auburn. To their credit, they have found ways to win 2 of those games and keep the other one close against a highly ranked Texas. But we can't let them have an offensive explosion in this one.

I don't think Vandy's offense is designed to put up big yards. It is reminiscent of Ga tech under Paul Johnson with a triple option style attack that eats clock and keeps the other team's offense off the field.

Admittedly, I haven't seen them play much this year.

They exploded in the Bama game for 418 yards and 40 points, but they haven't sniffed those numbers in the 3 conference games since that one going for 20 points and 288 yards against UK, 24 points and 269 yards against Texas and 17 points and 227 yards against Auburn. Against very bad Ball State they only put up 24 points.

Defensively, on paper, we should be able to control their offense. But Bama should have been able to as well...on paper.

The only reason I think they are hardest team left on schedule is because they have actually beaten some good teams. I don’t think Missouri or Clemson have beaten any good teams, would have to double check Missouri’s schedule to be sure. If it was a home game they would not stand a chance. One last point, I hope our guys aren’t looking past them. There’s no accounting for how 18-22 year olds think. We should win though, any way you look at it.

Well, Mizzou has beaten Vandy, who is a good team.

Vandy is good, but so are we. They don’t scare me though. We go out and play our game and we win by 2 TDs.

Funny. I was reading the A&M board after our game.

mine of their posters commented that they would not play another team as good as SC. Said Texas isn’t as strong and physical as what we brought to the field Saturday night. And vandy hung with Texas.

Yes, we fizzed. Watching it was agonizing.

Went into that Vandy game as the #6 team in the nation.

Painfully remember.

I think I'm the misery champion for that week. I'd been dumped hard by a girl a couple days before. I was in the depths of despair that Saturday, laying around in my bed moping. Figured I'd watch the game for some comfort.

I don't know about that. He's played against some good D-lines already and he's been ok. I hope our DL gets their licks in, but based on Pavia's body of work so far this season, I don't think it's reasonable to expect a collapse in this game.

Vanderbilt wants an ugly game. If we can have the mindset that we will be the more physical team, much like we did with A&M for 3 of the 4 quarters, then we will win.

If we can stop the Run on 1st and 2nd down and force 3rd and longs, we win this game!! Then our DE's takeover. It wouldn't hurt if we could have long sustained drives to keep the Defense fresh being down now 2 DT's. Sucks Barret is out now too. WE are thin there now!
And of course, no turnovers. Bama threw a stupid pic 6 early and Bama never recovered.
Cocks by 15. Yes, Shane throws in a 2-point conversion.

You can say this about every game any team plays.

Stop the run, force third and longs, long drives and no turnovers. It is hard to lose if you do these things.

Yes but unlike Ole Miss, these guys will run the ball on 1st and 2nd down. And, as you will remember, as recent as last year 3rd and long was not an advantage for us. Teams were consistently converting on 3rd and plus 10 against us all last year.

Mark Stoops said when playing against this year Vanderbilt team, your offense will only get six to eight possession for the whole game because Vanderbilt does hang on to the ball to chew up clock. South Carolina needs to take advantage of every possession and maxima their points on these drives.

I think in the fourth quarter of the Vanderbilt Auburn game. Vanderbilt had the ball 10 of the fifteen minutes in that final quarter.
