The usual names were listed (Pat Casey included for those thinking he was just a pipe dream) but anyway the thing I found most interesting was Byrne saying he won't make any further comment until the next coach is announced. My prediction is like AceLeroy says, get ready for Showalter. If he's interested, it's the 1 move that might keep all involved at least somewhat satisfied. First, we don't pay another coach's buyout clause. Second, Polk will know he's got a former player in charge even though it's not his first recomendation, and third, and most importantly, we the fans don't get stuck with Raffo. I may be coming from left field with this stuff but I see it setting up. Either way, check out the blog. Some good names on there.

Either way, we'll be announcing a new coach I'd say late June so if we go the Cohen route, let's hope no ground is broken. Of course, if UK's A.D. operates like Templeton, he will personally go out and stick a shovel in the ground just to get the buyout pay.

cohen's buyout goes from 400K to 600K on July 1 regardless so we'll probably be waiting until then if its him

I think he was just making conversation. I don't think anyone really knows anything other than Byrne as there is no search committee.

I do highly suspect that Byrne already knows who he is going to hire, and it probably is going to be a collge guy. If it's Showalter, why not go ahead and announce it? Why wait until after the CWS? If Byrne really didn't know, there would be a search committee. My money is still on Cohen at this point.
