Legendary broadcaster Verne Lundquist announces he'll retire after calling 40th Masters
One of the great careers in sports broadcasting is coming to an end.
Love Verne Lundquist and will be sorry to see him go. Now, can we get Jim Nantz to retire after he calls his next Masters?
FIFYBut Jim Nantz is atraditionturd unlike any other.
Has nothing to do with golf. I know Nantz.I don't know if I've ever actually heard of a golf fan that has a big issue with Jim Nantz.
I guess if there was going to be one, I shouldn't be surprised that it's Art.
I thought he was damn good doing SEC gms myselfVerne has always been great at calling golf
Football....not so much

“In your life have you seen anything like that!”"Yes sir!"
IMHO, the closest all-time call to "Do you believe in miracles?" If it was a sport more popular, greater audience, than golf, it would be getting more recognition. Even at that, it was spontaneous whereas "miracles" was not. Again IMHO, the greatest golf shot of all time.“In your life have you seen anything like that!”
And call the azaleas flowers. He should refer to the "patrons" as "the crowd" and call super fast greens "bikini waxed" just to piss off the snobs at Augusta. He's probably too nice a guy to do that.
And what exactly does that have to do with how he broadcasts on the air?Has nothing to do with golf. I know Nantz.
AgreedIt's time to bring Gary McCord and David Feherty back.
McCord-yes. Feherty-not so much. It's time to bring Gary McCord and David Feherty back.
I wish, love hearing Feherty on the LIV broadcasts. It's time to bring Gary McCord and David Feherty back.
