This is 4-6 weeks after the point when many schools look for coaches and the 'good ones' that were known to be available are spoken for.
Meanwhile, there was a known transition plan for Duke. Current players, commits, and recruits all knew what to expect who would be the next coach.
One approach leaves chaos and uncertainty behind.
The other approach leaves a calm and known plan of action behind.
I am not knocking Wright. He should do what's best for him- he clearly earned it. But from just a transition plan approach, one is clearly better than the other for everyone left behind.
