Or maybe they decided that, since they are situated in the nation's capital, and in light of how things are now, why identify with anything or anybody and risk offending someone else?

After shooting down Admiral they had to choose between Master and Commander, so I think they have made the best of the choices available.

Maybe not mutch anymore, but she had been one for 50 years. I guess with all the politics they have used the NFL to push she had chilled on them a bit already. However she is not alone. The state of Virginia had a huge Redskins following and I have seen a big decline in the following of the Washington football team already.
???? They scored plenty of touchdowns wearing that logo and using that name. Won Superbowls. Fans tailgated for years wearing that logo. Fans loved it. Fans didn't demand a change. Or are you saying people did all that, not a logo? Then that would be true for any logo including this new one. Or am I totally missing your point?
