WBB--Is there any team you DON'T want to face in the NCAA Tournament?

According to the latest bracketology, we could face So Cal or UCONN on our side of the bracket, or UCLA in the Final Four. I don't fear UCONN, but a match up against So Cal could be a mighty test given the competitiveness of the Pac-10 this year, and JuJu Watkins. UCLA in the final four could be interesting. On the other side of the bracket, I would not want to face LSU or Iowa in the final. LSU has the potential to really turn it on, and Iowa is scary with Clark doing her farewell tour.

I’d say Iowa or LSU. There’s absolutely no question that not a single team in the country can match our talent and depth, but those are the only two teams in my opinion that could take us in a single game. LSU certainly has the talent if they can harness it the right way for one game. Shoot, they already almost did it this year. And Iowa, as annoying as it is to say, if Clark is burying step-back 3’s there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it and she could certainly almost single handily take us down.

Of course, I’ll add that both of those would have to be coupled with us having a bad shooting night. If we’re hitting outside there quite literally is no chance we lose to any team.

I'm OK with that.

Looking at it a different way, what is a team (or 2) that you would LIKE to see us play as it may be a fun competitive matchup? I think we would beat VaTech but it would be a good match with Amore against Poapoa and then Cardossa against Kitley. The rest of it we have too much depth and skill. Still interesting. I also think UCLA would be good game

I agree with Iowa or LSU. As much as LSU’s glitter bomb coach drives me bonkers, the woman can coach. She’s got the rings to prove it. And with Iowa, heck, they beat our great team last year. Caitlin is usally very good, and if she gets hot, good lord she will kill you. Of course, even when she’s not shooting well, she feeds assists all over the court. I know it gets old, especially with the records this year, but the girl is a great player. And you KNOW on a neutral court, 95% of the crowd will be pulling for her and Iowa.

Kitley's status for the rest of the season is still uncertain....

I would love to send Iowa and Pistol Clark home. A revenge game would be fun. Then again, I would love to send LSU and Avatar Reese and HVL home. I really don't like LSU and love to watch their coach when they are losing.
The only team that scares me is us. There is not a team in the country that can stack up from a talent and personnel level. If we play our game, we are fine.

Would you say the same if she wore garnet and black
Who knows, but it doesn't matter. If I were a Clemson fan, I'd probably like orange overalls, but I'm not and I don't. There's no hypocrisy in sports fandom.

A matchup against SoCal would be cool, as long as the margin of victory was comfortable. lol

Several teams from the PAC 12 are good enough to beat SC and I would not want to see in Sweet 16 or Elite 8. PAC 12 was the best league this year in women's hoops while SEC was probably the worst out of the power 5 leagues in terms of really good teams top to botthm. Texas is playing really good right now and I don't think I'd want to see LSU again either. USC is really good but not unbeatable.

Not the question but I am looking forward to playing Iowa again if we meet up. I am curious as to how motivated Dawn will be and what strategy she uses on Clark. Iowa does have some other good players but Clark is the straw that stirs the drink.

How would Dawn plan for her? She, I believe would say, we can’t stop her so we will try to take away her good looks, try to limit her touches, and or do what? Clark creates so much pressure with her long stride and quickness.

She is a threat the moment she crosses the half court line and has such a quick step back… or can blow past you for the assist or even a layup. Would Ashlyn or Fulwiley be able to hold her down?

I want to play Iowa. If we are not good enough to beat Iowa, we are not as good as we think and not deserving of the title. LSU has improved since losing to us, but it also had home court advantage. LSU has really good talent, but some roster construction flaws with depth and players not playing their natural position. Overcome the roster construction and LSU is dangerous. I do not know enough about the West Coast teams, but they are getting a lot of good pub. So, I worry about a lot of teams, but the team I prefer to play is Iowa. If we do, it probably is in the final 4 with TV's influence.

Last year's game....Clark was a beast.......but that's all. We have anywhere close to the shooting ability (outside and mid-range) we have this year and that game is not even close.

We held Iowa well below their average last season; 8 points less than Iowa scored against LSU. Defense wasn't the issue. We had 3 starters who scored 1 bucket between them. That's a killer.

To answer your question: Raven guarded her last year and she would get the assignment again this year, if we meet.

I would like to avoid any top seeds from the PAC 12 or any team we have played multiple times from the SEC like UT or LSU. It’s just hard to repeatedly beat the same teams over and over.

It's the pitfall of playing in the SEC. I'm sure there was never anyone in UConn's league that they didn't mind playing and having to beat the third or fourth time.

We have won 10 of the last 11 games with TN and 16 straight vs LSU. This may be the best South Carolina team ever. I like our chances vs either one or both if it comes to that....
