According to AccuWeather ( o_O ), the high tomorrow will be 27 F. No precipitation in the forecast. It will be 26 F at kickoff.

It gets cold in Dallas (e.g., compared to Houston), but I‘m guessing smew has limited game experience in the cold weather that they will experience tomorrow. Add to that Tom Allen’s defense bearing down on them, and 😞.

Will weather be an advantage for us? Maybe not with no precipitation. Plus, this is big-boy football.

The weather shouldn’t hurt us. So, there’s that. Whatever.

Sure it gets cold in TX, but not a “high in the mid 20s with a stiff wind” kind of cold very often. And when it does get like that, who’s outside playing football? Texas isn’t like Jersey where we’d be outside playing Nerf football in the street when it was 5 below and dark!

We are getting a decent snowfall in State College as we speak.

Given that it is going to stay plenty cold, I expect the Beaver Stadium area will be more or less in a whiteout motif for the game

No doubt Jimmy has the wisdom to hold outdoor practices this week so we are aclimitize to playing in this weather. But something in me says Jimmy kept the players indoors in a warm and comfy practice facility because analytics told him to.

I like your optimism, but
1. "Tom Allen's defense bearing down on them..." yeah, the same one that has surrendered points in 7 of our 13 games on the opponents first drive. Despite the laurels that continue to be thrown at the feet of the D, I think they have A LOT to prove in this game after getting torched against Oregon.
2. "The weather shouldn't hurt us".... yes, it will.

The weather in games like this is a great equalizer that helps the underdog. People are so amped up thinking SMU is going to come up here and not want to leave the locker room because of the cold. Give me a break. I can only hope us having just played Maryland in cold helps us here, but the real advantage to me is being overblown.

I figure smew will have sideline heaters and we won’t.

With all the rain and snow this week, I’m stunned they haven’t closed the grass lots.
There hasn't been that much rain and snow this week and it has been a very dry year in these parts. Plus since it has been pretty much below freezing since the MD game, for the most part, the ground is kind of frozen. The RVs were rolling into the ORV lots and i didn't notice any muddy problems.

If we can get the runs tomorrow like we did against oregon, we should be fine. Our defense should fare better against smew.
Why would you want the team to get the runs? Of course, that might make SMU less likely to get into close quarters, like blocking and tackling.

The tone is questionable to say the least. At best a ham handed attempt at some kind of humor?
To paraphrase Nick Saban on Gameday this evening when talking about the Ohio State fans booing Day, “If you aren’t being positive and supporting the team, then you are hurting them”

He should research the source of the word "Jimmy "
