Hope not. I received my homeowners renewal Saturday and it's up 27% over last year. This is in Meridian not the coast. Everyone should get ready for higher rates due to all these storms and escalated replacement costs.

Latest recon found 933mb.. probably 150 mph at next update.

The track moved slightly north to Sarasota. If it moves 30 more miles north it will become the costliest hurricane in history by a wide margin.

If the European model is accurate Tampa and Orlando (and many other smaller places) will be devastated.

It just passed our resort on the Yucatán. Just a little rain and thunderstorms last night. Pretty wild how it spun up so quickly.

We forget that just south of there got waxed by Ian in 2022 and recovery is still on-going there. I just noticed that before Irma in 2017, Florida hadn't had a major hurricane since 2005. Been ravaged pretty good since Irma though.

You hate to root for a hurricane to move in any direction bc people live all up and down the west coast of Florida, but this thing really really needs to stay south of Tampa Bay.

My company is based out of St Pete and I was just on a call with a coworker that lives on a boat. He is staying. That is absolutely nuts.
I certainly wish him the best, but from what I'm seeing they might wanna start looking at resumes for that job.

He is freaking crazy. I hope he survives. When we had 6 weeks with no tropical storms and the gulf water just getting hotter and hotter, I was worried we'd have an October like this. This one is shaping up to be the worst 1-2 hurricane punch in history.

My wife is on a Disney planner group and there’s people arguing saying that families shouldn’t cancel their Disney trip. Morons live among us.

If the current dead center of the cone turns out to be the actual track, that is just about the worst case scenario for a hurricane in the US.

I have a 1,500 sq ft townhome in Miramar Beach on the gulf and the insurance is $16k/yr. It's stupid.
