YES won the Grammy for this in 1985 for best Rock Instrumental. The late, great Alan White was a beast on the whole 90125 album. Trevor Rabin wasn't bad either.

This show really is special. The band is under-rehearsed (and out-of-tune at times) but they can groove out and follow Hendrix where ever he wants to go. Hendrix wants to guide a tour of the solar system. No need for lyrics.

You go on after that Who performance, Sly & the Family Stone, CCR, CS&N, etc., you better bring it and boy did Hendrix bring it!

And then this. Can you imagine watching these guys knock out this groove, knowing they're just the backing band and Otis Redding is coming out soon?



I'm not trying to post just every instrumental I can think of, I love instrumentals! Finding new ones right now in this thread is awesome.
