Well at least we made it to Hoover...That must satsify half the fanbase

But....I was listening to an LSU call in show on Monday and most of the pundits and callers were acting like they were glad they didn't make the tourney. I call BS on that, but they do get to rest up for the Regionals. The laugh is on them though because MSU made Hoover and will still get to rest up for the Regionals...

Take that Tigers!!

We should have won yesterday and that would have been better, but when you look at our team top to bottom we did well to get where we are.

We don't have a single starter we can depend on and there's nobody in our lineup that strikes fear into anybody. The SEC tourney doesn't mean much for us anyway as there's really not much difference between a 2 seed and a 3 seed in a regional.

Let's just hope we play better there.

My goal for this season was to make a regional. We have done that...hopefully.

We were not going to go from 22 wins to Super Regional Bound. I'm very satisfied with Hoover and a Regional. We were one win away from winning the west outright.

This can be described as nothing other than a serious late season swoon. After a brief, nice little streak with better starting pitching, and competent offensive production, we have clearly backslid. We limp into the tourney when we could have taken care of business on our own. I wasn't really concerned with winning this thing, although that obviously would have been awesome, but we needed at least one win to gain some momentum going into the regionals. as it stands now, I don't see where this team has any. I think we might have been getting our sea legs back up until that grand salami.

and allow me to expect more next year.

Now I would like to see us win a regional in the NCAA. That would be nice.

Hopefully we saved our pitching for that

If we go to a regional and bow out after going 0-2 and losing to a 4 seed then it would leave a pretty crappy taste in my mouth but it won't diminish the improvement we have seen compared to the last 2 years under Cohen.

Our pitching staff in particular. I'm glad we made it to Hoover, and while I hate losing, the silver lining is we get to rest up a little bit for our regional. It was a good experience for our younger players to go to Hoover and have this experience. We simply do not have the pitching depth to realistically win the SEC Tournament yet without a miracle.

I think we can make a good run in the regionals- depends on our draw though. I'm definatley pulling for USM.

we over-achieved. Most everyone said before the season IF we went to the SEC it would show improvement. Winning 1 or 2 games in the regional would be another feather in our hat. Our young guys now know what it will take to win next year.

And before anybody goes off, yes I know we sucked last year. Yes I know it's all Polk's fault. And yes, I know Cohen was left with nothing to work with. But damn. A whole thread of people talking about how satisfied they are with going 0-2 in the SECT and being eliminated without much of a whimper. I agree it's progress. But satisfied?? I sure as hell hope Cohen wasn't satisfied with that crap.

We all know that MSU baseball should be a lot better than that. But the fact is, except for a fluke in 2007, MSU baseball HASN'T been better than that since Pat McMahon left. And in Polk's last year and Cohen's first two, MSU baseball was a lot worse than that. So yeah, given where we've been, making it to Hoover and to a regional is acceptable for this year. Cohen better do more than that within the next couple of years though.

It would be even more depressing if you bought tickets to go and watch us in Hoover. I have had dumps that lasted longer than we did but it was about what I expected when I saw our draw.

have gotten out of the season thus far. No one likes to go two and out but as Todd says we have a shot in the right regional but we have no shot in the SEC tourney with our current talent level. We have improved but we still have a long way to go and hopefully we can get there.

And based on the responses so far, I would estimate it to be 89.4356784 % of posters that are"satisfied".

Based, of course, on very "raw" data.

...MSU pitching couldn't deliver yesterday once staked to a 3 run lead.

You can pat the kids on the back all you want for "just getting to Hoover," but the meltdown vs. Florida was some embarrassing ****.

If Cohen is going to keep preaching team pride, then his team needs to buy into it & start showing some pride.

If you are one of the 8 teams good enough to make Hoover, then you show up & strive to win. You don't betray your offense by hitting batters, walking batters & tossing little league pumpkins down the middle with the bases loaded.

In case this hasn't occurred to anybody, whatever regional MSU goes to, the #1 seed in MSU's regional is going to be as good as Florida & probably better than Arkansas.

So keep that in mind while you are sending the kids some post-Hoover-meltdown love.

deliberately served up the gopher pitch so that MSU would be a High 3 seed and sent to Texas A & M....so his family can all come watch him throw a no-hitter.....**
