It sucks we lost this game but when someone is on fire like that it is hard to even get mad about it

You make someone else beat you even if they get a wide open look. Bad coaching IMO.

and left someone wide open, you and others would be saying "how can you leave someone wide open like that?" We shot terribly from behind the arc and on the line and Foster was ridiculous. They said he hit some from way, way out there. We could have won had we hit our shots but that didn't happen. Foster had a once in a year, or even career, type of night. It sucks but it wasn't bad coaching.

and deny him the ball. If he gets it, you force the ball out of his hands with a double team and rotate your defense. You dont let him beat you at the end.

I didn't get to see it. How did you know we didn't do or try to do exactly what you said?

He threw up some ridiculus shots, nearly all contested, some from 30+ feet. The guy's just unreal.

but I am saying if he was doubled when he got the ball by Jamont and whomever, he wouldnt have made the <17'ing> shot. It would been someone else

And then you would have been bitching that we left someone else wide open. Go blow up some of your condoms for balloons, celebrate the Vandy win and shut the @+$* up

Up in the rafters on the end line behind State's bench.

Talked with a lot of Gordon's people who came to see him play.

not when they have a mf'er that has put in 42 and scored half their points. You MAKE someone else beat you.

We were running zone most of the evening, and Vandy was using ball motion around the perimeter and occasionally passing to the high post with a quick kick out back to the wing. Mostly, we clamped down on the shooters and Vandy was more often than not one and done on their offensive trips.

They were passing on WIDE open shots from as little as 12 feet...there was a LOT of focus on Foster defensively, but they were determined to let him shoot. Like I said before, most of his 3's were contested. The funny thing is that on several of the truly open looks he had, he air-balled them.

Shan is 6' 6" ... when he's on, he can create his own shot that we have no defensive answer to (few teams do, much like Brewer at UF last year). Now we know how Auburn feels guarding Charles Rhodes.

We committed to stopping everyone else, and did it. Call me "settling for mediocrity" but going to Vandy and taking them to OT with a 1-point loss while shooting like crap ... we couldn't have asked for more (except for a win). I want to get mad, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

wide open 3s all night. Dishwater was basically suggesting we made no effort to deny him the ball or defend him once he got the ball. Should I take his account or somebody who was actually there? Hmm, I wonder.

Up two, with 29 seconds left, we let them run out the clock and shoot a three? Seems like the best play would have been to foul, let them sink their free throws, and then we get the ball. I could be wrong, never claimed to be a basketball coach.
