What is the longest friendship/acquaintanceship you have (not family or spouse)....

This subject came up earlier this weekend....we were discussing people that we have known for a long time....I mentioned I have three people whom I speak to regulary/semi-regularly and I have known them since 1974...so 50 years.... I also have three friendships over 40 years, and 5 or 6 that are over 25 years.

How about you? How long is your oldest friendship/acquaintainceship (which I define as someone you communicate with semi-regularoy and socialize with at least a few times a year, and would invite to a wedding and/or funeral).

I correspond with a couple of friends from my high school days on Facebook Messenger but none of them are in person.

I'm 75 and have a good friend that I've known since 1st grade. And, no, it wasn't a one-room schoolhouse. Still play golf with him and meet for dinner with him and his wife a few times a year.

I'm not 75 but I did attend two different 4 room schoolhouses. The elementary school was too crowded so they bused a few classrooms to old wooden buildings that were no longer being used.

MY friend Charlie and I worked together at Logan airport(Boston). First met in 1968, still talk regularly. He in Ma, me in FL.

My friend and fellow Nittany 28/PSU Grad, Steve. We have been friends since freshman year of 1975/76. So next year will be 50 years of friendship! We speak regularly and see each other periodically as he is in B’More.
