A lot of my notions is that people from last year improve which is typically how it works.
QB = better than 07, any year without the Human interception machine aka Money Mike, is a better year. From all the warm and fuzzy accounts, Tyson should be at least = to Riddle. Carrol should be better.
RB = better than 07 just purely based on the same guys from last year plus adding Elliot and Bonner for a homerun threat.
FB = better than 07, same as RB, same guys
WR = I hope to God better, I consider it a wash right now since we lost Burks and the rest are the same guys. Smith should be better and Riley is supposed to have seen the light but I will believe it when I see it.
OT = I think it will be about the same maybe a little worse. We lost Brown but moved over Sherrod to his spot and have Melichar who played decent last year as a backup. Would have been a big strength if not for dumbass decisions. We could have had 2 NFL caliber OT if not for that.
OG = better, same guys
C = same but could be better, from all accounts Brigone is more athletic but lacks the experience. Could end up better at the end of the year as he plays more at the center position.
TE = worse, TE is mostly a blocker. Sherrod and Butler were decent and Husband was a decent receiver. The X factor is how Green adapts. I could see him doing something if we actually throw to the TE.
K = better, Richards gives an alternative
Punter = better, same as above
So looking over the list, TE, WR and OT should be our question marks compared to last year (I know last year sucked). We should be improved. Whether that means we are #99 in the country to break into the top 100 or we actually move into the 50s or 60s will depend on the play calling. I think we have the players to do decent, not great but maybe well enough for 8 games, with luck 9.
