What kind of offense do we run?

Supposedly its a NFL style offense. Screw that! Running up the middle on first down ( and most 2nd downs) is obviously predictable and boring.
Surely we could do something different.

If you get behind against a good team (it happens) and there is not much time left in the fourth quarter, you need to be able to score. In other words, you need to know how to pass. Use he pass to set up runs.

The feeling I get is DLogg's offense is based on the OL winning their assignments for the play to be successful with very little finesse and deception as part of the offense.
In today's CFB we are going to have to get a little more creative on offense to be successful IMHO.

They went overly conservative when Ashford came into the game.

Of course he threw one nice, deep pass that was wiped out by the phantom PI call. That's the one penalty that's not debatable. It didn't even exist.

I keep hearing this boring comment, now if running up the middle was all we did every play I could see your point, but you have to run the ball to open up other things. Just about every skill player we have besides Simon's is a first year starter here, to me they've done a pretty good job, let's give them a few more games to jell! I'm sure the staff know which plays work and which don't!

I just read this after my post.

Fair
Can we at least get a full back ?
Also make sure qb2 & qb3 are truly ready.

It feels like we had some of our better offensive production when we incorporated a FB. And we've had a couple/few really good/effective ones in recent years in DiMarco and Adam Prentice - who both were/are in the league.
Remember a couple of years back we had an OL who we used pretty effectively as a FB - heck, he even caught a TD pass for us..... though his name escapes me atm.

I recall when Holtz was here (I think...may have been earlier Spurrier days) we had some very effective 2 back set. Might have been with either Summers or Watson.

"The OL winning their assignments"? We have "Watch Out" offensive linemen.
