Orange Bowl, Three Rivers, Pitt.

I've also been to Rich Stadium (or whatever it's called now) but it'll be gone soon. I'll get back to this thread in a couple years.
I saw my first NFL game at Rich Stadium since I couldn't get Steelers tickets. It was super windy that day with wind warnings being given on the radio. I was so into the experience that I had bought a game program and never opened it till I got home. Here, I had the signed game program by Nate Odomes and could have turned it in for a game ball but never bothered to look during the game. What are the chances right? I wrote to the Bills afterwards but they did nada. I've been up there for a few games and saw Jim Kelly and the Bills in the '90s. I may try go to a game there next year in its last season.

Of the many noted, I was at the Spectrum on one of the nights when the roof blew off. I assume it’s still there but I saw many Wilt v. Russell games at the Convention Center.

I went to Atlanta Fulton County which was the dump you probably think it would be, not sure that one was mentioned.

My fav was old Yankee Stadium. Any time I was there and saw the monuments was a privilege. Just looking at that field and imagining Ruth out there was a treat. It’s why I stop every spring in Clearwater at Jack Russell and sit in the dugout realizing that Mays, Clemente, Bench and others sat on that same bench.

LOL

It started out as Municipal Auditorium, when it opened in 1931. (With the asterisk that the Civic Center and Convention Hall were a combination of buildings that started in 1899.) It hosted the 1936 Democratic National Convention (DNC), the 1940 Republican National Convention (RNC), the 1948 DNC and the 1948 RNC. As a result, is came to be called Convention Hall.

The Philadelphia Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers played there before the Spectrum opened in 1967. I think the Sixers played there after the roof of the Spectrum blew off, but I'm not certain of that.

Anyway, Convention Hall closed in 1996. I believe the 1996 Atlantic 10 Men's basketball tournament was the last event held there that was open to the public. The Pennsylvania Convention Center opened in 1993, and that took away most of the non-sports use of Convention Hall. For the next decade or so, Convention Hall was mostly used as a soundstage and for movie scenes.

Convention Hall was torn down in 2005.

Well, good to know that I saw the last event there because I went to that A10 tourney there. It must have been around that time too that I saw Penn State play at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Back to the Philly Convention Center, I remember seeing Queen play there as well.

One place that I took a trip over to see was Dodger Town in Vero Beach to check that one off before the Dodgers bailed on Vero and Florida. Hallowed Spring Training grounds for sure.
