Other than Starkville of course. I'm talking about visiting to see the town and look at its history. My wife and I are talking about visiting Raymond.

Slightly different reasoning, but headed to Tremont High School Tuesday to speak to a student about weather and storm chasing. Teacher there works with students with disabilities to prepare them for life out of high school and she has a student interested in meteorology and storm chasing and invited me up to talk to her.

That's great! I'm sure they appreciate your contribution to their program. Have you been to Treemont before? I looked it up Tammy Wynette is from there.

Man, I am going to Forest, MS to check out some deer for the first time since I was 5 years old here in a few weeks. I passed the hunter's safety course years ago, but have never gone through the process of getting a deer license.
What do you guys know about the process?

Rodney Ms, is a cool little day trip, and you can make stops along the way...Raymond, Learned for some steak, etc. It missed becoming the state capital by 3 votes I think, and it is very much a ghost town with a couple of churches, smaller buildings still standing.

Looks like I will get to tour the friendly little burb of Senatobia later this month. I was headed down I-55 from Memphis one fine Sunday morning and apparentlly broke the law. Some barely "legal company" sold the city a tag reader and it read mine -- as an unisured motorist! There has never been a moment when my vehicle was uninsured and that was backed up by my agent. It seems there is a problem with the paperwork and they cannot accept the Declaration of coverage sent by email. Court date to follow...

Don’t have a particular destination in mind, but I’d love to be able to do a celebratory lap around the state when Fat Tate is voted out of office next week.
I'm pretty sure you're going to have to put that celebratory trip off for awhile. I'm not a Tater Tot fan at all but there's no way in hell I'd vote for somebody that has Benny Thompson's endorsement.
I don't trust Reeves or his handlers either. I'm voting Presley. Won't matter though. Reeves will get 60% of the vote.

Como, MS in a couple of weeks for a family get together. My uncle lives in a 6k+ sq ft home in big, beautiful open area of land.

By visiting, do you mean like drive thru it while on highway 18? Or am I missing something to do or see in Raymond?

Speed limit is 25, better mind it unless you want to meet the tall ******* police chief.

Yeah, It’ll be high 50s for Tate.

People still don’t know Presley.

But that doesn’t matter because Goat could get 40 percent of the vote against Tater.

Corinth has a lot of history and some fun places to eat. Borrum's Drugs is like something out of the 1930s. Shiloh battlefield is just across the line as well. If you have any interest in the Civil War Corinth is a must do. The museum that is part of the Corinth unit of Shiloh NMP is top notch.

Nothing officially planned as of yet but the gf and I have talked about going to Natchez for a long weekend. I've only been there once and it was at night for a football game.
Natchez is a good time. Just watch out for any Natchez Snatches on the loose. They'll getcha.

*That's not me being disrespectful of any lovely, funloving ladies down there... that's what they call themselves.

And if you go to Shiloh, be sure to look for my close-up in the movie. Yeah, its only the back of my head while loading the cannon but its still a close-up. LOL

Sometimes I'll just haul my a s s through the south delta this time of year when everything is fallow. It's dreary, but peaceful. There's a stretch of 16 between old horseshoe bend and Holly Bluff where one can let the horses run. Well into triple digits on many occasions.

@STATEgrad04 , was in Rodney this past Saturday for a quick 2 day Natchez get-a-way mainly to visit a private Chapel , St. Mary’s located on the Laurel Hill plantation south of Natchez.

But regarding Rodney, first time we’ve been there in probably 20 -25 years, not near what it was. None of the streets are even visible any longer, much less being able to ride down. There are still 2 churches left, but the way I understand it the flood of 2011?? Pretty much put the nail in the coffin.

It was the capital until the river rerouted.
