Does it say about the "culture " of this team when a player like Allar stays?
Someone should congratulate Franklin?
It's still minor league, me first football.

Kind of an amazing feat IMO. Early mock drafts I've seen do not have Allar in the first round, but to be fair, they only have two QBs total projected in the first - Sanders and Ward. It only takes one team to fall in love with you though, so curious as to what Allar is hearing. He made big strides this year and if he can put it together next year he could be the top QB in the draft.

I am not a fan of how all of this unfolded though - would like for Drew to break this kind of news.

Allar did break the news, on Twitter. Go check Ryan’s thread.

Also, #subjectlinesmatter.

As you know, Nate hinted at it a month or so ago in the Den. Said he heard he was leaning on coming back.

It says that Allar and his advisors think another year at the college level will lead to him being a higher draft pick the following year. This does not say anything about the PSU culture any more than Pribula leaving.
Thanks for your encouragement of integrity.

He could transfer to literally any school he wants but he chose to stay despite not having a WR1 to throw to next season. But keep spouting nonsense and have a BOT member like the post. @PSUFTG

Or that he needs another year hitting the books.

Allar: Coach Franklin, I’ve decided to return to Penn State next season.

Franklin: Drew, that’s great! Remember, it starts with “I love you“ and it ends —

Allar: Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Now get me some f*cking wide receivers. For f*ck’s sake.

Franklin: 😞

This is great news. I was down about Beau leaving. But Allar staying makes it better. I understand why Beau did what he did. I don't blame him.
I have mixed feelings. I'm an Allar fan but I was also looking forward to see what Pribula could do. Maybe the next McSorley. PSU has several highly rated OL and appears to be loaded at TE (Raplea, Dinkins, Reynolds). My guess is that Allen will return at RB along with Wallace and Martin. The only weakness is at WR where we certainly need portal help.

Defense is another issue. I assume we'll lose Carter, Sutton, King, Reed, and Kimber along with a DT.

Sorry, but this has very little to do with Penn State's culture. KJ Winston is declaring for the NFL draft instead of returning. Should we infer that Penn State has a culture issue?

Regardless of what happens, it's always on Franklin. Pribula leaves?? That's on Franklin. Allar stays for 2025?? That's on Franklin. Cold on Saturday?? Yep. Franklin. Dude has a hand in everything.
No no no. You have it partially wrong. Beau leaving, on Franklin. Allar staying, despite Franklin. Bad play call/execution, on Franklin. Good play call/execution, on players and coordinators-Franklin had no part. 😉🤣🤪

Why wouldn't he transfer to Ohio State if it's all about the NFL? The kid is from Ohio and would start there next season. He loves the culture at PSU. He's said it many times.

Probably for the same reasons other top kids stay at their schools and OSU doesn't have 1st team all americans at every position.

Nice that Drew is staying. I don’t really understand why, but people smarter than me have advised that as the best course. I ish him luck, makes sense why Pribula left.

You clearly haven't been following the transfer portal or Ohio State recruiting the past few years. ✌️

If you want to think Allar staying is purely a selfless act, and Penn State is the college football equivalent of Shangri-La, have at it.

So true. That effing idiot. How about the culture when Jerry was a coach. Some of these guys will try to fry Franklin about the weather.

Worst case scenario for us fans and the team.
Drew has an amazing playoff run, we get to the Natty and barely lose. Drew plays out of his mind and now because his stock is off the charts he has no choice but to declare and thus we are out on Beau and Drew for 2025.

Isn’t “whatever thing actually unfolds” always the worst case scenario for Penn State?

Hopefully, he won’t be successful in the playoff so he returns next year.

Is he flying drones over NJ and SE PA too? Is that a new recruiting tool?

Allar has publicly praised Franklin on more than one occasion. I know that bothers some people, but that’s the reality.

If you were around in '93....Kerry Collins wasn't the top QB in college as a Junior..... then his senior year '94 he was terrific....maybe his advisors realize Allar may make that same jump.

Or another year of hitting on chicks at The Phyrst! It would make me say, “screw the NFL!”
Like a young NFL QB has trouble getting laid?

RB only have so many miles, but any chance Fatman comes back ? Seems like a wide spread between him and Singleton on the draft boards.

Drew Allar staying is terrific news for the Nittany Lions. I see another run at the playoff next year. On a different note, I did know about Beau Pribula entering the TP but what I didn’t know is that NCAA rules allows him to miss his post season playoff games.

I think he'll return if he expects to get the majority of carries and rack up stats
