of the Super Regioinal last year. It's the first time I really hated myself for moving far enough away from Mississippi that I can't just hop in the car for any game I want. That's the reason why I bit the bullet and paid too much for a plane ticket to be at the Bama game last fall. That one worked out.

96 SEC Championship Game vs Kentucky...In New Orleans...I'm with you. I can't imagine having more fun at an MSU sporting event, or the celebration on Bourbon that would have followed.

2nd place - Elite 8 game vs Cincy to reach the Final Four.

I cannot believe I wasn't there.

I still have the Reflector from the following Tuesday where the entire paper was pretty much devoted to the game.

A close second is turning down tickets to Lexington for the Regional earlier that year.

...because then the streak would be at 96 instead of 92.

Add Arkansas '99 to that and it goes up to 101.

I had just left to go to basic training and we were on lockdown from any news from the outside world except mail. I didn't know what happened until a couple of weeks afterward in a letter from home.

I had seen every home that year and wanted to go to the SEC Tourney. I missed going to the SEC Tourney because my ex wanted to go snow skiing. I hate cold weather, and now I really hate snow skiiing. And then, because we had spent so much going skiing, I couldnt go to the FF. Thanks for another reminder why I hate my ex.

We lived in Hattiesburg but couldn't go.
With honorable mention for the 1999 comeback at Auburn

Decided to party with some high school buddies instead. I did, however, stary for the last 6 minutes of the Auburn game. I also stayed for the Tenn. game where Kendall Watkins caught the game winning pass. That game was over until that fumble. Would have loved to been at the Bama game in 96.

I guess for recency, Bama '06. My dad and I thought about going, but chickened out because we didn't want to watch us get skull drug and deal with the ******* Bammers in T-Town afterwards. For overall awesomeness, '98/'07 CWS appearances, '98 SECCG (still pissed my OM-fan uncle had tix and didn't offer to take me), '96 Final Four.

I'm going with MSU/Bama 1980 as well. My parents went, but left me with a babysitter. I was three at the time.

That year we beat every team in the "SEC West" (I know it didn't technically exist at that time).

But, Ole Miss, Bama, Auburn, LSU all went down to the Dogs that year. Maybe we can celebrate a mythcal Western division Championship. Most of those games were at the Vet. (Not sure about Auburn)

Auburn '99..We were sitting in the upper deck and decided to leave after another failed offensive drive in the fourth quarter. By the time we got to ground level, we heard a shift in crowd noise and walked up through the portal next to our band the play before our first touchdown. Good times!

Anyway, missing the Championship game in '98 was/is my biggest regret (starting the clock from the time I was enrolled @ State...otherwise, it would be Bama '96).

I had one foot out the gate, when my Auburn girlfriend (now wife) says to me, "You made me sit through every minute the last two years when State beat Auburn. We're going up the ramp and watching the end of this!!!"

I said fine. And turned around.

Next thing you know, I'm up in the stands above the State band - Tubberville orders his punter to run out the back of the end zone and the rest is history.

Great times.

the last 9 mins of last years Egg Bowl.

/I walked out with 10mins to go only to hear the roar of the crowd just as I walk out of the stadium.

But, I'm not upset that I missed the end. My friend and I that left together convinced ourselves that we were the bad luck and that we needed to leave. We proceeded to slightly trash our tailgate and headed to jamdawg's apartment to watch State vs S. Illinois...both of us decided not to answer our cellphones or check text messages. I gave in a checked mine, jamdawg sent a few updates and was wondering where in the hell we were...but we still would not turn the game on. Finally, we agreed to turn it on.. just happened that Carlson was lining up for the game winner...

...and as far as the game I missed that I want to see:

MSU's win over Cincinnati to advance to the Final Four is my pick.

SEC tournament, run to the Final Four, even the crappy ending.

The only football games I would consider wishing to be there are the Snow Bowl and Auburn '99.

AA - maybe a few more '85 baseball games

you left that ole miss game, ram. i was shocked you did, but i suppose you were bad luck.

and personally, i'll have to go with the 96 game against kentucky as well. beating big blue in the big easy. i can't imagine a finer experience than a day at the dome, followed by a hazy memory of drinking hurricanes at pat o's, spending a few dollars at the hustler, laughing at some trannys, and stumbling back to the sonesta with a bag full of krystals and a stray from the bachelorette party i crashed.

at least, that's what i imagine it'd be like.

on Jefferson Pilot Sports in 92 (I think) is how I watched us beat TN when Kendall Watkins caught the game winner. Speaking of that, anybody have that video. The game, the catch, anything? I love watching any of our older highlights...
