When a player enters the portal

is he essentially giving up his scholarship in hopes of receiving one? Does each school have its own policy regarding if that player wants to come back they have to be "offered again"? Sure are a lot of players in the portal with no destination next to their name. Seems to me way more players are going to end up in a worse situation than better.

Looks to be about a 50/50 shot based on the data that a player will find a destination with a scholarship.

Also looks like 7% return to their original school.

They give up their scholarship is my understanding. Its up to the school if they take them back. A large percentage of kids don't find a home. Fairly often schools will tell kids they need to find a new home if they ever wanna play. It works for both sides
