I doubt Bill Bassett will be the headache some people here think he will be.

But if that turns out true, then Manning dealing with him + Ferrari Sr has comedy gold potential.

Plus we should buy 2 front-row seats next to each mat at B10s, so they can heckle Terry during every Iowa match.

After reading all of these posts, I'm definitely in the minority. I really didn't know much about Bo early on, other than he was really good and worthy to pursue. But when he started that ridiculous recruiting process I didn't care much for him or his family. I didn't want him to come to PSU. To me he seemed self centered, entitled, with quite an ego. If he selects PSU, fine. I don't think he cracks the lineup. I can't speak about his brothers, so maybe recruiting Bo is part of a grander plan to land the more talented younger sibling(s). I'm not about attacking young athletes, but he put himself out there on social media and he'll probably make more than me with his NIL offer than I will make in my life, so he is fair game for criticism.

Then let's ask: who blocks him from 149 once Van Ness graduates?
- Perry or Herring?
- Some 2027 recruit? (Mangano, Anderson, and Borge are the only possible 149s among the kids we're known to be recruiting.)

If Blaze grows to 149, then sure. But nobody is projecting him to grow there.

I hope PSU lands them. Bo and Melvin have already proven themselves as great wrestlers. Keegan is on the same track. I am assuming all 3 are a package deal but nothing is for sure. My honest opinion is everyone is making excuses for not wanting them cuz they dont think the kids are going to commit here. If PSU was the front runner from the beginning, and the Iowa saga didnt occur, I think everyone would be all over them and love them. If someone would have thrown a bag of money at me when I was 17 years old and told me the offer expires soon (allegedly) I would have taken the money too.
I wish Bo's critics would just stay in the closet until the season's over. Really annoying to have to listen to them. They are worse than Bo's list that they are criticizing about. They are so spoiled and think elite recruits grow on trees. I bet they wouldn't be saying the thing they say now if Penn State was still under Troy Sutherland. Who knows if Bo will pick Penn State, but leave the kid alone. He didn't hurt anyone, except someone's ego. Good grief!

These people posting about not wanting Bo, or are butt hurt because of his social media, are probably just a bunch of snowflakes. He is an elite talent that I believe would do great things if he decides to come to PSU.

Snowflakes? Some who are put off by Bo’s self aggrandizement are from the school where performance in the arena (be it biz, sports, the battlefield or the bedroom) is revealed with results. Yeah, it’s a so called “new age”, but, humility is a trait that has won admiration for eons. - USMC Vet

"Different opinion" as in attacking a high schooler? You're a big bad man, I see. Who's next? A Girl Scout?

Bo is an elite talent for sure, he will/can be a difference maker at any of the programs.
Managing it will be a challeng for many of the coaches. He was a must get for Iowa and more for what he brought to the table than the wrestling.
His social media presence is a big get for most/if not all. We don't have to like it but we should understand it.

Fify (I'd still love to see him and Melvin at Penn State but Penn State will win NCs with or without him.)

Bo chose Iowa despite a decade plus of data showing they aren't really developing champions and outside of Spencer, have zero success on the international stage. I assume Bo chose them because the $ was stupid and he liked the idea of getting the Spencer treatment at the HWC once Spencer ages out ( Bo would assume the position as the face of the program and all of their focus). I hold no ill will for him for choosing a place other than PSU. However, I know he will likely not get that sole focus at PSU, and wont be the only face of the program status, so I am hesitant to think he will choose PSU. I do not think his dad will be much of an issue wherever he ends up. I would welcome him to come and be happy, but do not expect it. Nebraska has shown a recent ability to develop its roster with some good training partners around his weight. OSU with Davito and Mendez too. Add in the Rudis ties that people mention, I went with OSU.

This is something that wouldn't surprise me at all. He's pretty rail thin at this point and what weight is Joey wrestling?
That's conceivable long term. Within the context of blocking Bassett from being Van Ness' immediate successor, seems less likely.

Joey Blaze was a 157 true freshman. Maybe Marcus is later on the growth curve, or maybe he's just smaller.

Joey last wrestled 138 in his HS SO year, so gueasing Marcus is naturally smaller.

Good luck to both of them, wherever they end up, together or apart.

If PSU great; I will follow them more closely and root for them. If somewhere else fine; I may largely forget about them and will conserve my energy rather than root against them.

As many will remember, I was not a fan of the weekly cut. I thought it was in poor taste. That said, I have no issues with Bo being on the PSU team, and would root for him 100% all the time. As El Jefe said, in Cael I trust. Same with melvin but I hear he is enamored of OSU. This package deal stuff is overblown.

Get him into the detox plan at the Creamery, stat! It's how Geno Morelli cleansed the Pitt from his system.

Catch it now, before it requires IV treatment.
The Orange Death is a horrible disease. We need to treat Melvin on a humanitarian basis. I have hope for him.

Taylor will be a 40-year-old OKST coach during Miller's 4th year in college. Next thing you know, he'll grow a mullet and have some redneck drape live rattlesnakes around his neck for pics. Somebody save Miller from this fate.

PSU losing 1 or 2 tops kids yearly is not going to make any big deal unless they all go to the same school and that's not happening!

Have been on that road several times, unfortunately long before the USMC anthem was installed. It's near Palmdale airport, and one of the shortcuts we took from the Palmdale hotels to Edwards Air Force Base south gate.

I wonder if/how the sound changes when a heavy vehicle passes over.

Really cool that they did that. (Also pretty funny that the Marines marked their territory in an Air Force town.)

Will have to do that if I ever get back there.
