TD. Drink rail. Finished the night at an Irish bar. Made them pull down the Vandy hat from behind the bar leaving only 1.

At my home one the outskirts of Starkvegas watching with the family on the tv. I shall not list the size of said tv so as not to embarrass myself to another certain flat screen aficionado on the board, but it serves its purpose. Recorded the final out on my phone to catch my son's reaction to winning it all.

1st base side at TD Ameritrade with my oldest 2 kids and my parents. If either of my kids goes to State someday, then it was 3 generations of Bulldog alumni there watching history. Unforgettable.

That night at home watching the game. But earlier in the day I drove out of town to pick up my very first Cadillac. Always wanted one and got 2 bucket list items checked off before going belly up. A Caddy and a NC for MSU.

At home watching by myself. Scared the ever-living **** out of my dogs who were asleep on the floor when Clark hit the HR. My 54 year old fat *** yelled "BALLGAME!" at the top of my lungs and went from fully reclined in my easy chair to fists in the air almost hitting the ceiling as soon as he swung. I started getting the feeling in the 5th inning but kept it pushed back but as soon as Clark made contact, even before they switched camera angles, you knew that was it. 9 runs with Bednar pitching a gem and a fully rested Sims waiting.

Time to go watch the highlights. Again.

Flew into Des Moines and got to Omaha about 2:30 PM the day of the final game. Snagged a ticket about two hours before the game on StubHub and sat in the seat directly behind Kumar Rocker‘s dad. Ran into a few people that were at State when I was there and bombed around with them after the game at the mattress factory and then at Rocco‘s. Drank until they kicked us out, shared a cigarette (I don’t smoke) in a bar with some KD at state inside said bar. Pretty fuzzy until I woke up the next morning and drove back to Des Moines to sit in airports the rest of the day back to Louisiana. What a 24 hours to be alive.

At Wednesday night Bible Study

I had thought about staying home. However, I realized that if I ditched Bible study for the ball game State would've lost. NOTE- these are the things you do for your team.

So, I went and learned a lot, then as I came home I walked in to Kellum Clark's 3-run Jack. I rang my cowbell in the back yard for a while after that.

Oh mine was bad...I was boarding a flight from Key West back to San Antonio, with a layover in Dallas.

Right before takeoff, they announced the wifi was out on the plane. Wasn't going to be able to watch the game at all!!

So I missed like the first 2 or 2.5 hours of the game. All the excitement of winning a natty really was past.

I got YouTubeTV finally pulled up in Dallas as Clark hit the HR that basically made it an insurmountable lead for State.

Still got to see the end, but I will always regret not getting to see it live.

Got home that night, sat on the couch by myself and watched a full recording.

Key West - hanging out with Joe Weed, texting Mike Leach, commiserating that his flight was delayed into Miami and we couldn’t celebrate together. #noshit
