John Feinstein, the sportswriter, once expressed that golfers were the most well-balanced athletes. They also had the most college graduates.

Cornhole

You could enjoy adult beverages while competing and have all the Johnsonville sausages you want.

Also would have the potential to get a lot of ESPN screen time during dead period sport weekends. The training and impact on your health may be too much though.

Career 2nd or 3rd string QB in NFL. Great retirement benefits, lot better pay than I make now, little chance of getting hurt, groupies of the opposite gender everywhere, nothing to do but make sure your cap keeps the hair straight and tote the clipboard.

Median NFL punter. Couple million salary. Kick the ball a few times a game. Don't shank and get that hang time. Never get the glory or the hate that a PK gets. Generally pretty stable roster and contract situations. Don't get your head bashed in routinely. Do 10 years and retire a comfy comfy life.

2nd would be golf but that would be an intense travel deal and tough on family life. Especially if we are talking the median PGA guy. I bet the annual dollars are the same but a lot more hassle to get it grinding the weekly tournaments on the pga schedule.

not knowing a ton about the professional side, but is tennis an option? Seems like there aren't a ton of tournaments but the payouts are still pretty good. Great cities to travel to, nice facilities, and a decently lengthy career.

Are pornolympics a thing? Played weekly would be fine. Pay doesn't have to be much but the fringe benefits would be awesome.

Suppose you had the talent to pick a sport and get good enough to make it to the top tier (so you get to the majors and aren't stuck in the minors), but are only middle of the pack so you don't get to be one of the super stars. Which sport would you pick?

I'd go with golf. No contact so you can have a long career and not have brain damage and busted joints. The median earnings are pretty good. Most of the courses are in nice places (no three game road trip to Cleveland). And the average golfer only plays about 25 events a year so you still get to be home most weeks.

Runners up for me are F1 driver and Premier League (or any top flight league in a good European country) footballer.
Without a doubt…

I'd be a NFL kicker or punter. Not MLB because they play wayyyyyyyy too many games
