I was going to listen to the game tonight for the first time all year.

You just changed my mind in that regards. I can't believe how this baseball season has unfolded.

We are currently 0-8 in games that I have listened to this year. Of course with a 14-21 record most of the games that anyone listens to are losses.

Whitney's ERA is only 6.00, so we may actually hit him. If you were to throw Wesson and his 18.69 ERA to the hill, we'd get shut out. We can't hit pitchers with really high ERAs.

Given that we should probably put up some runs tonight, we'll probably struggle with scoring.

as they try to climb back into the hosting picture. Ridiculously, a loss tonight would be a really bad loss non conf wise as State is at 130 on warren nolan.

currently, Etheridge has ya'll not hosting, warren nolan has you at 38 RPI and you have series at Columbia, Athens and Lexington left.

I have no doubt ole miss can host, but I wouldn't phrase it as "pretty good shape."

but with our attendance, ranking, conference, what we'll bid, etc, I think it will happen.

Honestly, if we make it, I hope we go on the road for a super, playing at home obviously has not helped us in the recent past.

have become pretty much irrelevant. Wow, this is like role reversal as state fans were getting this speech not too long ago.

The RPI is going to have to go up but the opponents are left that can make that happen.

We are at 9-6 at the halfway mark which is better than any of the last 4 years and we hosted every time. The problem is our RPI is bad this year because teams like Minnesota and TCU who were suppose to help the RPI out aren't very good. That coupled with losses to Central Arkansas, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, and (to be a dick but it's true) MSU, aren't helping us out any. If we finish the second half of the season by winning home series against Ark and Auburn and win one road series between UK, UGA, and SC I think we will be in good shape. Regardless of who we beat, I think if we come into the SEC tourney at 17-13 as the #1 seed from the West and don't pull an 0-fer in Hoover, we host.

He was in the weekend rotation 2 years ago when the rotation was Kline, Lynn, and Buckvich. He had a shaky start last year and got bumped out of the rotation by Baker. This year he has been hurt and just threw for the first time in about a month last week.

at least i thought so. At home that hasn't always been the case. Although yes, I realize in theory if you are on the road you will be playing a better team. don't mess with my dumb theories.
