My mind tells me to root for O$U but I just can't do it. I can't bring myself to root for either but I will say that I respect ND way more than O$U.

Am I the only one who wants to punch Day in his face everytime they show him? Not a fan of Harbaugh but he nailed it when he said that some people start on 3rd and act like they hit a triple.
I don’t have any issue with Day. I would have much rather punched Urban in the face. I don’t think Day was ever gifted anything in life. Not many people would want to deal with what he had to deal with growing up. Goofball Harbaugh should just keep his piehole shut.

The reference from Harbaugh was in regards to Day taking over O$U and his attitude that followed. It had nothing to do with his personal battles in the past.

I understand that, but those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Harbaugh took over a program that was bringing in very good recruiting classes before him and they were mediocre at best until last year despite the hype. I find Harbaugh to be a tired broken record of a circus sideshow.

This a pretty good OSU team that will go undefeated in the regular season, but it’s going to come up short again at some point against Georgia or Bama.

If they play like they did at times tonight, they may not go undefeated. They looked out of sorts a bit at times tonight on both sides of the ball. I’m sure they will get better but they don’t appear unbeatable.

I guess that depends on how good Notre Dame actually is.

Not so sure. I was really impressed with the OSU defense - something they've lacked the last 2 or 3 years. They basically gutted their staff after last year. Also saw they outgained ND around 400 to 250 yards. This was - by far - the most physical OSU team I've seen in awhile and they just took over in the 2nd half. It's only game 1, but something tells me they can play with anyone

They probably can play with anyone, but let's not kid ourselves about ND. They don't have any WRs. Not really sure they have a good QB. Time will tell if this was 2 strong teams or not.

If ND is the 5th best team in CFB, it's going to be a boring season.

Hate to say it, but that new OSU defense - with all of those new coaches - was ultra impressive. It was well known that ND's strength was their outstanding lines and front 7 on defense and OSU just took it to them that last 2 1/2 quarters. OSU would have lost this type of game in the 2 or 3 previous years

Their last drive - for the TD - was just good ole smash mouth football - something they've lacked the last few years. This is what Michigan did to them last year. They lost that WR JSN kid early and was without Julian Fleming (injury) who is set to start this year. They still outgained ND 400 to around 250.

Interesting that they had a poll on one of their websites - Eleven Warriors - recently about what team they're most fearful of this year and by a long shot, it was PSU. We have a shot at them at home but this is a totally different OSU team.

ND offense is limited by WR and maybe QB and they played very conservative. Not sure that was a good measuring stick for OSU defense.

Has Julian Fleming seen any action? ND is the lesser of the two evils.

He made his bed now he can lie in it.
🤔 He may be still injured.

Julian Fleming Listed As Game-Time Decision, Ohio State Otherwise Healthy For Notre Dame

"The Buckeyes will only be without three players against the Fighting Irish, two of which were already ruled out for the season.

Ohio State is relatively healthy heading into tonight’s season opener against Notre Dame, with junior wide receiver Julian Fleming as the only player listed as a game-time decision."

Fifth-year senior cornerback Lloyd McFarquhar will be unavailable for

I agree. ND is very limited at WR and they called an extremely conservative game due to the QB making his first start at night on the road. They really lack any playmakers at WR. When they were touting the former walk-on at WR you knew they were in trouble.

Really pleased with the defense. Will reserve judgment on the offense until JSN is back and healthy. Clearly his injury completely changed the game plan and we couldn't get a rhythm. And Freeman had a fantastic defensive gameplan.

I'd put us as a clear #3 behind Bama and UGA right now. Who knows how the season unfolds. Most of us are pretty pleased with the transformation on D, but ND's offense isn't exactly elite.

As a frequent poster on Eleven Warriors, I can vouch for that. Playing at PSU is always atop our list of toughest games for obvious reasons.

I think the trip to Happy Valley this year will be very tough for us. Not nearly as concerned about the game @ Michigan State, and I think we pay back Harbaugh handily in November. If there's a loss on the schedule, @ Penn State looks to be the most likely in my eyes.
