Namast-adium is yoga on the field, July 15, tickets limited to 300. Might be some eye candy in yoga pants?!?

And they are also selling 1,000 tickets to watch “The Lion King”. Get your tickets early!

First they came for the players tunnel, now the HUB lawn. I fear for this once great university.

These are exactly the kind of revenue generating opportunities that the school should be pursuing. They don't harm anyone else and if the people paying for them enjoy it, great. I'm a little surprised they are limiting the movie to only 1000 tickets as they could obviously fit way more but perhaps they think some scarcity is needed to get it to sell.

Generating positive net revenue - in almost any scenario - is a good thing.
That said, do you think showing Lion King on the scoreboards, and charging admission to people who want to come in and watch it - is likely to even cover the costs of opening up, staffing, and providing utilities on a summer evening?

I would be pleasantly surprised. (shocked, actually)

I saw some pictures of people rappelling off the Stadium a few weeks ago...That would have been fun, but I'm sure it would have been out of my price range...I'll stick to going off water towers and cell towers for free with the fire dept.

The yoga should make money if it draws a decent crowd. The movie? Toss-up. Maybe they could augment revenue by setting up concession stand and charging movie theater prices.

I wonder how many tickets they could sell to watch a Lawn Dart Thunderdome competition?

Bottom line, they need to explore getting more use out of it. Should have been doing this for sixty years.

The mantra was always "Joe didn't want it". If I recall, there was quite a bit of irritation when the stadium was used for the various HS football championships with Hershey's stadium was under construction.

Joe has been gone for more than a decade, and the next significant "other" revenue generator to use the stadium will be the first one.

The stadium lack the appropriate infrastructure to host a large concert. The two portals to the field level, the south end zone tunnel and the visitor's tunnel, do not provide the appropriate size to allow for the movement of modern rigging, staging equipment, other equipment now required for large concert events.

🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♀️ Oh well

According to athletic department spokesperson Kris Petersen, yoga will be $40 per person while the movie — the 1994 animated version — will cost $5 per person.

Tickets will go on sale sometime in June, and more information is expected to be released in the near future.

They did try about six years ago. Perhaps they found out the hard way.

How about Women's FIFA world cup? You might have a colleague that knows a thing or two about that.

Or friendlies and Shebelieves? They sell out all over the US.

Get two good teams with Penn State’s patented overcharging. Should be a win-win.
Uh, uh. Whether teams (unlikely) or leagues, PSU is grossly over matched when it comes to negotiating. This is major orders of magnitude more than screwing people who look like us.

And yet:

The proposed renovations - which are being sold, at least partially, as being a step to allow for more "usages" - does nothing to address any of those supposed issues (which, IMO, were never "issues" anyway - but regardless, the initial point makes it moot).
Kinda' makes one wonder, no?

Everything now has a price tag.

Game day chants soon to follow.

“We Are”…$10 per person or $20 per family
“Penn State”…$5 person or $10 per family

Hopefully the natural grass playing field remains a priority, despite wear and tear from any events on the field (vs. stands).
