I think Oak can move the needle closer and get us back in the hunt. But lsu resources for baseball and recruiting just is crazy and they have the whole state of Louisiana behind their baseball program even those who went to ulm uno latech sela nichols etc all cheer for lsu baseball and football.
I think we can be the baseball equivalent of Auburn and Clemson football. I just hope that Oak can reel off a decade or so like Dabo did - remember, they were a 10-15 level recruiter - but just had the culture and everything running on overdrive.
I think the true blue bloods of baseball are really just LSU and Texas. What I mean by that are the title winning teams crossed with who really can sign (or buy) the cream of the crop. Oregon State is probably there, they've sustained winning for a long time. Florida as well - even though the fan support isn't there they can someone sign 5 star level players and keep them out of the draft. The rest of the top 10 fluctuates based on coaching and who is doing what. Obviously I'd say Vandy, Tennessee and Arkansas are there now though Arkansas hasn't won a title. The flukiness of the baseball postseason throws a wrench into things. But all 3 of those are recruiting ahead of us.
I've said it before, I'll say it again.....until I'm proven wrong, MSU has to get it done with the 4 star guys with maybe a few 5 stars here and there that fit. Just like Clemson football. Oak understands this, from what I've seen.
