South Carolina women's basketball: Why Dawn Staley wants "units"
South Carolina basketball's Dawn Staley reveals the biggest difference between the men's and women's tournaments, which most haven't heard.
That's a reasonable statement, and I doubt DS would disagree. Of course, she's trying to change that.People generally just aren't as interested in women's basketball.
Keep the angst and controversy alive is what I say.Same shortsighted NCAA who essentially gives away revenue to bowls instead of promoting a 16-team true playoff in FBS football.

In your opinion, how much less could they care?98% of sports fans could care less about Women's Basketball.

Yes, and please advise how much less they could care while you're at it.You got data to back up your claim?

Notwithstanding the change, I think what DS is getting at is that the NCAA is short-selling women's March Madness. If it's valued at $100m, and the NCAA is selling rights for $34m, that's a problem. No different than if men's March Madness is valued at $1b and the NCAA sold rights for $340m.
Do you even know what you are talking about? Units for NCAA wins promotes the university and the sport.Just coach, promote the university and the sport.....and stfu.
Good grief
The NCAA is generally pretty good at squeezing every last dime out of its cash cows. It’s just nonsensical to think the NCAA wouldn’t take more money if they were being offered more money. It’s literally an organization designed to make money.
That's why Dawn wants units, so we don't lose money and and the school earns a share based on success. As of now, we get the same share as Wofford. So, women's basketball tourney is worth $100 million dollars, but we, as one of the top teams in the nation, lose $4.5 million a year by having women's basketball.
I don't think so. Somebody paid off the appraiser.

Excellent pointWhy doesn't she ask for women's basketball tickets to cost the same as the men's basketball tickets?
That would certainly help us lose less money.
Prices are going up for next season. Can't find the link to show it.Why doesn't she ask for women's basketball tickets to cost the same as the men's basketball tickets?

They are, but they’re still cheaper than the men’s tickets.Prices are going up for next season. Can't find the link to show it.
And a better bargain for your dollar too. They are, but they’re still cheaper than the men’s tickets.
There is a reason for that.
