Why does Brian Hartline remain at tOSU?????

guy has been at tOSU for 8 years as WR coach. Picked up co-OC designation a couple years ago, but when BOB was going to be their OC he wanted that "co-OC" diminished. Possibly BK wanted same deal when he became OC. None of the media look at Hartline as the OC. 8 seasons is a long time to be a position coach when you are successful.

By now he should have moved to OC at an elite school or even NFL. Penn State has had a string of WR coaches and only one was a firing.

of course Larry Johnson stayed at tOSU when he could have gone to HC position in CFB or an NFL DC, while he continues to be a position coach.

Not sure what would keep position coaches at tOSU when a school like Penn State they turnover in a few years.

He's paid very well for what he does. I admire those that don't chase dollars when they're perfectly happy where they are and good at what they do and don't become another example of the Peter Principle. To me that shows wisdom.

he was promoted to OC and then moved back to "co" position to bring in another coach that the whole world sees as THE OC. HIs pay of $1.6M is more than WR coach would get and short of the highest paid OCs. Supposedly, OSU has 5 of their coaches are over $1M pay.

I also admire people who don't chase $$, but in his case is tOSU sending signals that he is not up to being OC? why would they bring in BOB or Chip Kelley? It is possible that he doesn't want to climb the coaching ladder.

Penn State coaches seem to turn over pretty regularly as they want to pursue higher positions.

He played at OSU. Maybe he likes it there plus I'm sure they pay him well. If a former Nittany Lion did the same thing at PSU, we'd be saying what a loyal guy he is.

PSU should offer to make him the highest paid non HC coach in college football. Either we get him or OSU would need to even pay more to keep him.

Hartline would seem to have no trouble moving on to an OC role or even HC elsewhere. tOSU is paying a lot for a WR coach. IF Hagans was at tOSU, would he be able to do just as much with their WRs as Hartline?
