Still to this day pissed off about that jerk UK columnist back in 1999 that said the SEC should kick us out, we bring nothing to the conference.
It drives them crazy when you mention SC was the last between the two that went to a final four. Us in 2017…..

I believe this is correct and I don't really understand it. Things looked so promising for us after Year Two of Muschamp. But one factor could be that our coordinators were where they were for reasons other than having established themselves as ready for those roles. It could be that we needed better coordinators. We definitely needed better coordinators.
True, he bowl win over Michigan had us all feeling like we were going places. Whatever the reason, it's a pattern for him. The longer he coaches the more inept the team becomes. By the time he left here it didn't seem like the team knew the basics or tackling, blocking, passing, catching, etc. He was fired from UF after losing to Ga Sothern with two of his

Going from SOS to Muschamp, after he failed at UF, was like going from filet mignon to meatloaf. Had to be one of the most puzzling hires in SC football history.

I remember hating the idea of Muschamp when he became the rumored name. Once he got hired I talked myself into being excited about him. First impressions there were clearly right.

But then he tricked us, and himself, by overachieving in year two.

What great offensive talent are we discussing? We still have an unknown line. Qb transfer “possibly” could be good, lost his job at his last team. Who is our best wr??? Vann? Probably wouldn’t start on a top 10-15 team. So I like to be optimistic, however some folks forget last year and what it actually looked like under satt…. Everyone and their brother was calling for his head…. Minus the fla game and UNc game
Jalen Hurts lost his job…..Kelly Bryant….Quinn Ewers the million dollar kid spent 1 year at Ohio State and transferred to Tx cause he couldn’t beat out Stroud (Bowers is expected to start at Tx). Arch Manning is coming to Tx….one of the will end up transferring.

Point is…….losing your position to another talented person does not mean you’re not talented or good. Rattler was 15-2 at a high level. He is good and he is talented.

Kentucky’s administration is serious about building a winning football program. Ours doesn’t appear to be. I lost faith in Tanner and the BOT when they hired Mushamp. His final straw @ Fl was losing to a not so good Gamecock team. When rumors started about Tanner hiring him, I thought it was a joke.

I didn’t focus on rattler, he was just an unknown at the moment. That was a small point I tried to make. But you are correct, he’s better than anything we had at the moment. The O line is the biggest concern

I'm reserving judgment on Rattler. Yeah, he "lost his job" at OU, but there was a lot going on there that wasn't his fault. Even some OU folks have conceded that Riley wasn't coaching him well, speculating that he already had his eye on the exit, given how quickly he departed for SoCal. Not to mention, they were 5-0 when Rattler was demoted. To that point, he had a 75% completion percentage, 11 TDs and 1500 yards. He was on pace for about 3600 yards and 27 TDs. He wasn't exactly playing poorly. Fans were just agitated b/c they weren't obliterating teams and it was the classic "the most popular man on campus is the backup QB." Williams was highly touted and fans just got antsy to see him and the thing snowballed.

I don't know how good Rattler will/won't be BUT he is unquestionably an upgrade over last year's QB situation.
I agree wholeheartedly

There are a group of teams in the east trying to take the next step UK seems to have proved recently they are #2, taking baby steps that is where we are trying to get so beating them might be the biggest game of the season! I always thought we looked at uk as a team we expected to beat every year with that long run we made on them a while back, i think thats why they have distain for us after they have turned the tables! Very much like ut we with us they drubbed us for so long they just assumed they would beat us every until spurrier turned the table on them and uf!

Because if Coach Beamer is gonna be successful here he’s got to get us back to beating teams we use to beat almost every year

I must admit I am kind of concerned about Rattler. From what I read, he was benched for making poor decisions on the field. Combined with Satterfield's 2021 coaching (not to mention his previous years as an OC), that has the potential of being a match made in Hell.

More important now that Stoops has been making fun of Beamer.
He’s trying to say he wasn’t talking “about Shane”. That’s a lie. He sh#t and fell back in it and now he’s trying to get out of it. I watched him say it this morning on Marty and McGee and Shane came right after him as they talked to all fourteen coaches over two half hour shows.Stoops has been there 10 years now. People seem to forget that. Shane Will gave won a couple of East titles by then.👀👌. I hope.

Seems very "meh" to me. He won, he can talk. When it goes the other direction, it's the kind of talk that's loved by fans.

I don't see them as being #2. I see them as being #3 and their hold on that will be hard to maintain. As for Spurrier and UT, he won some games against them that were thrilling to see. But two of his better teams lost games to them we never should have lost.

FWIW, Stoops has tried to walk his comments back by saying he was referring to the way he was when he first came to UK, but the examples he gave in his explanation don't match what he said. The sunglasses comment was too specific.

Tennessee beat Kentucky last year if last year was 2021. I'm liking their foreseeable arc compared to that of Kentucky. I'd like to be mistaken because a rejuvenated Tennessee is an ugly prospect. If we go to the 3-6 league format, what Kentucky does won't matter as much to us unless we play them every year.

My bad, i went back to the east finishes and last year was the first year they’ve finished #2 recently! I thought it was two in a row!
