then our bastketball program is probably about to be put on probation. That's the only way I can see Stans resigning. He has alot of talent and he's about to get more in Bost and Osby along with Smith next year. You're looking at a hell of a team in 2 years, so why would he just up and leave that behind. Matterof fact in 2 years, could be Stans best chance to make a run in the NCAA Tourney and get over that "1st weekend" hump. Plus, Byrne said they would probably be breaking ground on the IPF in a year, which is what Stans wanted. Just doesn't make sense.

....I could see Stans getting fed up with LT over contract issues or something similar, but not with LT on his way out the door. Won't happen, with the caveat that there are circumstances that none of us know about going on (NCAA investigation, job interview that's been kept quiet, family issues, etc.). And I bet we would've heard something on any of that by now. So I am calling BS and don't buy this one bit.

I hadnt even thought about that angle.
Let me pile on a little. IF that theory is true, is it time to break out the black helicopters, and attribute Stans being turned in to one of the recent transfers?

Hey Rick. Now that I am the AD, I need you to change something for me. Your kids running out with the team and sitting on the bench needs to stop.

with these knucklehead players? He walks away for a year and takes a break and gets a job somewhere else. Someone would hire him. A mid-major type school would jump on it.

the mutually assured destruction deterrence that has been in place b/t Stans and Gottfried finally broke down.

If there was, it sure didn't stop Gottfried from calling the NCAA about Mario Austin.

Wow. Hadn't heard that theory. I like it though. I thought maybe Radon or Mercury or Lead. Ya know, something the EPA would have to do something about.

You got crucified because you fired a successful coach, and came out and stated that you were going to hire someone that would take you to the BCS every year.

If we fired Stansbury, we wouldn't come out and say that we were going to hire someone that would take us to the Final Four every year.
