If not if that happens when? Lose to the Bears they may not even make it to a bowl game. They are sitting at 3-4.

Remaining Schedule:
Mississippi
Florida
Auburn

My main thoughts on this game is hoping like hell A&M wins that damn game. The more tsun loses and the more we win, the better odds of the refs calling a fair egg bowl.

In all seriousness, if you were in his shoes, would you even care? This will be just like Eddie O….show me what door to walk out of!

difference there is.. A&M will owe Jimbo somewhere between 68 and 70 million more for a buyout than LSU did O.

After they flush that down the toilet… they then have to offer someone in the neighborhood of what Jimbo got to get him there. Either that or take a chance on a less desirable coach that would leave the fanbase groaning. Like a Mullen or a Frost.

He’s already out. My guess is that the buyout drops a bit after Dec 1st or something like that. Zero chance that he’s still at A&M next season.

If AM is smart they’ll run the ball with their stud 35 times and roll Ole Miss. Jimbo does not appear to be smart, though…

Nice link. What is it if he gets canned before Jan 1st? Its all just pocket change to A&M either way, but I bet they’d still like to pay $8-9 million less. My guess is that if they get their guy locked in before December they’ll go ahead and pull the trigger….otherwise they’ll just wait until after the bowl game.

No, he won't be, but it won't matter, because I think they are going to solidly beat Ole Miss. 2 road games in a row for Ole Miss, especially after a demoralizing loss. I think aTm puts something together at home.

Agree. That 8 or 9 million will pay for a few more 5 stars.

So he’s gonna stay there until, say, 2029, and finally get canned when the buyout is “only” $30 million?

The money is limitless at A&M. Money for 5* players will always be there as well, buyout or not. I get that its a lot of money….but its still going to be a lot next year and the year after that, too.

That would mean LSU technically beat them twice.

If Texas A&M decides to fire Fisher without cause, the university owes him every penny remaining on the contract. Every last one. And Fisher can have it paid out to him from the date of his firing until 2031 when the contract would have expired.

An impressive 25% of that total would go to the coach within 60 days of dismissal. The rest, starting 120 days after that date, would be in annual installments through 2031.

A couple of weeks ago, the Ole Miss game could have been considered a toss up, but given how the Rebels have struggled against the run of late, A&M has the edge there.

I see them finishing 4-1.

Going to be hard to fire Jimbo with the costs involved. Plus, he's got the top class last year and working on it this year to show them. He can use that for another year and go get a transfer QB.

Ya'll need to quit listening to Bo Bounds when it comes to Jimbo. Bo just won't give it up, and he's married to this false party line so he's just digging deeper. His winning percentage is as good as any aTm coach in like 40 years except RC Slocum, including King Jackie. Slocum's was (slightly) better, and safe to say that playing in the modern day SEC is more difficult than the Big 12 25 years ago. And everybody always talks about how they've always had top 10 classes, well not all top 10 classes are created equally. They were always filled with overrated, maxed out TX talent. The 2022 class is the first year they went and got the stud defensive linemen from other states.

They won't be Alabama dominant but they'll be good. Either way, we all need to acknowledge that Jimbo isn't their problem, Texas A&M itself is their problem. The culture is just weird. At least Auburn can claim their boosters are too meddlesome. It's hard to really put the finger on why aTm can't do right.

Texas A&M and Tennessee will be the biggest SEC benefactors of the new era of college football. I know it's easy for me to say Tennessee because they are good this year, but it's not just that. Those states are growing like crazy, so money is there to match the rabidity of the fanbases. And on Tennessee's side, the state is starting to produce more players due to the growth of Nashville.

I dunno. I'm sure they would love to, but who's out there that they could poach that would be an upgrade?

I mean... he's been flat at A&M outside the covid year 2020, but Jimbo did come in as a National Championship winning coach with a CFP semifinal appearance, 3 more BCS/NY6 appearances, and a 3-1 record in ACC Championship games. I can't imagine they're going to go from that sort of pedigree to somebody shooting up the Group of 5 ranks or an untested Power 5 coordinator.

Are they going to dump Jimbo for Lane Kiffin? Would Dabo leave Clemson for a job that isn't Alabama? Really own the t-sips by giving Mack Brown a retirement destination? How much work would the NCAA get with Bjork-Freeze II? You might have convinced me that Chip Kelly or Lincoln Riley would bolt the Pac-12, but I don't think they would give up the Big Ten, not for A&M.

It really just comes down to:
1. Who would be an upgrade?
2. Would that person take the A&M job?
3. Is it worth a $90 Million buyout to make the change?

I think you'll find it's a pretty short list.

I don't see Lane leaving Oxford for that job or the AU job or just about anything else other than Bama. And I don't believe they would offer him.
Lane's got a great set up in Oxford and he doesn't strike me as a title chaser. He'd probably more apt to win one in Oxford as opposed to the Sh!tshows at A&M and on the plains.

I am one of those that thinks Jimbo is safe and he knows he has nothing to lose. So he will go all out against Ole Miss. Close game and TAMU on top by 5

I don't think he leaves for just another SECW job, unless it's Alabama or LSU maybe, and maybe not even then. Who wants to follow Saban?

I think he's got a coast school on his mind. Miami, Florida, UCLA, USC, etc.

This is amazing. $70-80 million is basically what we spent on each of our major renovations, correct? New dude and 2014 Davis wade expansion. And twice our current hump renovation. They’ll have to pay that much to fire a coach.

Jimbo hasn't been worth a crap ever since Saban called him on the carpet for NIL deals enticing prospective $tudent-athletes to come to Yell Call practice.

A&M announced yesterday that 2 of their offensive linemen would miss the remainder of the season due to injury. This morning it is being reported that at least 3 other players have been suspended indefinitely. They are in a complete free fall at the moment. They couldn't solidly beat any SEC team outside of maybe Vanderbilt.

Lane's ex lives in Southern Cal with kids and his parents in Tampa Bay area, Dad Monty also coached at Neb. Will be interesting to see what institution gambles on Lane and his baggage.
