Will Levis projected as first rounder in this 2023 mock draft

#12 to Dolphins.
What a major screwup by Franklin sticking with the mediocre Clifford!
Mock draft
Playing in the same offense, Clifford had a better completion %, much better TD/INT ratio, better passer rating, etc. But Levis should have passed him, since some random blog has him as the 12th pick in the draft (even though it will never come close to happening).

Interesting take.

If you have to use a site none of us have heard of to peddle this argument then it's probably not a very good argument.

Also ditto, any mock that has Rattler in the top 5 is void.
I would add that how can anyone project 2023 yet. Dear lord. Young just won the heisman his freshmen year. How do they know who will step up a year from now. Saying that Franklin should have let the kid play rather than using him as a battering ram.

Probably not? You mean absolutely not.

Walter camp has joey porter jr at #4 overall in 2023 draft, doubt that happens but greater chance than levis going 12

Yeah, I doubt it, too, unless he learns how to stop getting flagged for interference.

I’m a huge fan of Will Levis and I’ll be thrilled to see him play on Sundays, but his chances of being a 1st round draft pick are about the same as my chances to make a squad as an undrafted free agent.

Will Levis had a very good 2021 season at Kentucky. Beating a good Iowa team in the Citrus Bowl was not easy. If his performance in 2022 improves and he leads Kentucky to another 10 win season he can very well go late in the 1st round or early 2nd round. But everything hinges on his 2022 performance.

He makes quite a few dangerous throws, as evidenced by his 13 INTs. If he cleans that up, who knows? If he doesn't, he's a project with good size and a big arm that someone may take in the middle rounds.

I could see the Jets taking him earlier than 12th. They have had a such a great track record drafting QB's

Not really, kid has all the physical tools, build upon this past season and he could easily vault himself into the first rd. Baker Mayfield took himself from a projected 3rd-4th rounder to a terrible #1 pick in the entire draft. Get your *** in shape then, practice squad might be in your future. ;)

I think with the right improvements this offseason Levis could play into a 1st rounder. He isn't now and that is for sure. I would also say I would be surprised to see him take a huge leap forward. He does have elite level athleticism so you never know.

There's a ton of big, strong-armed studs out there who are amazing QBs in high school, good college QBs, but suck at the NFL level. In the NFL you have to be all of that AND be able to make the pre-snap reads THEN go through your progressions correctly based on the defense that is really only revealed to you (most often) immediately after the snap of the ball. This was the issue Levis had at PSU, he was a one read QB. And if the reads didn't look right to him he showed two options: run, or try to throw the ball through defenders. I watched him at Kentucky and I think that he improved a bit, but his tendencies are his tendencies. When he was pressured he reverted to the same bad habits.

Anyway, nice kid. I wish him all the best.

First round QB? No.

Yeah. I preferred all of those NFL hall of famers Paterno picked to be QBs - Oh, wait a minute.

There are 2 reasons why Levis getting picked in the first round is totally plausible. Browns and Jets.

Shouldn't Franklin get the credit for recruiting him?

Oh wait, can't use that narrative.
So far JF is a better recruiter than an actual coach on the field sadly. This team is littered with 4 stars, better be 9+ wins this season. He, they missed on Levis it happens.

Is it true that Will Levis is considered a number one pick overall next draft?

Wow!. No doubt he can run the ball and could be Tebow Type this year.

Just a friendly reminder. Tebow failed miserably in the NFL. Levis should hope to not follow that path although that does seem like the type of skill set he has.
