Joe would have. For better or worse it’s how we got kids like Bruce Branch and Eric Sturdifen. But - yeah, if it’s likely a done deal that the 5* brother will follow his brother, you do it IMO.
I don’t think coaches really have that luxury these days with the portal and 85 scholarships. I’m pretty sure for much of Joe’s career there was a 100 scholarship limit?

Relax. I just returned from State College. Now I'm trying to update various threads, while also watching a DVR of the Eagles game. Sometimes when copying various tweets, for various threads, I forget which thread I'm in when posting.

With all due respect
The guy was being respectful. Why the snarky reply? Hopefully your day gets better.....

So, you’re saying Franklin shouldn’t have recruited the brother just to get Nolan?
I know their Dad Todd from years ago and can tell you mom and dad were walking fine line between letting him make own decision and pushing dear old state. In the end he wanted to play with his brother. So in a way not recruiting older brother was a big reason. Not blaming CJF just giving reality of the situation. Doubt any of that changes with Chryst out.

I had Leonhard as the favorite to take over at Nebraska. May have to amend that to the favorite to take over at Wisconsin.

But, man, I didn't see that coming.
It is a surprise for sure .

I thought I recalled at the time that Penn State would’ve had to make that decision on the brother before Nolan even began his sophomore year. OL are hard enough to project when they’re seniors, now we have to project them when they’re freshman and sophomores so we know whether a lesser older brother should be granted a scholarship? Nah.

I would think Wiscy wants Leonard to now grab the job and make it his.

And when they lose another 3 or 4 games, how do they justify firing PC? Let PC finish out the year. Leonhard can tell the recruits he's getting the job. Then he can mine the portal for some upgrades.

Cmon- do you think Tom reads every post on every string? Give him a break and who cares. Tom has every right to tell that nitwit to STFU

What was the respectful part of the guy's post calling out the board owner? What was the snarky part of the reply?

There aren’t that many situations where this applies. I say you take the chance - elite talent on the OL is worth the one scholarship risk.

So an ugly loss to Illinois at home is the straw that broke the camel's back. We'd never tolerate something like that either. (oh, wait...)
Actually....maybe not....but I saw something online that was pretty intersting....I will paraphrase

"When USC and UCLA join the conference, the divisions will go away. That is good for Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana and perhaps Michigan State. It is not good for the Big Ten West. So, Wisky no longer has an easy a path to a NY6 Bowl and possibly CFP. They cannot avoid Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State as much anymore. So, tougher conference slate, coupled with Wisky's (as of now) limited NIL opportunities is a serious issue to maintain any semblance of success within the conference and generate the interest/fanbase/money needed. Wisky needs someone who can really resonate with recruits, play an exciting brand of football. to generate the dollars they need."

I think Chryst is a good guy, but he is not the energetic coach kids look may resonate with. He comes from that old school Alvarez mold (although I think Barry was a snake oil salesman).
