Incorrect. Do you realize that, in taking the approach I take in sports, ALL my surprises are good ones. Can you say that? How many people can say that?

Extension - No, please no. Not yet. His salary was doubled before last season and he was given an extension. That was followed up by an inexcusable season. Coaches are overly rewarded for good seasons but no consequences for poor seasons. I would really like to see what he can do to keep it all going. New era of football and they can easily be back in the dumpster next season.

But no one at the school is asking me anything so he’ll get an extension and probably a raise. If they win out, finish regular season 9-3, 5-3 (don’t care about bowl result assuming there will be defections) then I could stand a one year extension. But if that’s how they finish he’ll get at least two more years and a raise.

That could be ok. Still haunted by the ghost of Muschamp past. He got a one year extension after the 2018 regular season. A season with some rather inexcusable losses, another Clemson shellacking, and a 4-4 conference record.

It was clear after the Florida game he was never going to cut it as an HC but Tanner and the BoT knew better and gave Muschamp some free money due to the extension playing a role in the buyout.

The worst it looks SC will finish this season is 7-6, 4-4 so he’s getting a one year extension at a minimum.

I've seen that image before. It has described me aptly after many, many disappointments all the way back to about 1965. I had to develop a defense mechanism, and it works wonderfully well.

I get disappointment. However, it doesn’t have to define you. And, unfortunately, while abject negativity may be a coping and cathartic method you feel works for you, it leaves a lot of debris in its wake.

But I’ll keep it in mind as I read your future posts. You have my sympathy.

What an amazing 3 week run. SEC Network announcers said they see us as a top 12 team right now record aside. I agree. Beamer has done a great job.

We will be 7-5 at worst, 9-3 at best. A 10 win season is actually possible.

Missouri at home, what a atmosphere thats gonna be. A win there, and WOW, will be 8-3 going into a vulnerable Clemson team.

Sure, but this team has way passed expectations already. Be serious, none of us saw this going into the season. We went from a team that needed to run fake punts and trick plays into a team that runs it down your throat and stuffs you on defense. It took a while to figure that out but that’s who we are. Now that we know it, it has worked every week. Coaching staff has to get some credit for the last 3 weeks.

Did you attend Columbia High School when it was still downtown? I ask because you mention Cogburns, Capital News Stand , etc. . . . old hangouts back in the day.
