For goodness sake, this is a question that a teenage pre puberty girl would ask. Another words a very young girl.
If you were smart enough you might have seen the question posed to put Franklin in a better light since so many dislike him, but then you would have to be smart enough to figure that out. Evidently not.

Would you rather have James Franklin or Jim Harbaugh as Penn State head coach?
Fixed.

Harbaugh. If Harbaugh were to become Penn State’s head coach, it would mean that under CJF’s guidance PSU had won multiple NCs and CJF had been given a 10-year contract as HC and GM of the Washington Commanders.

Or, he would have gone off to USC, where, despite having to live in an empty refrigerator because he can't afford housing at an easily assumed $10MM/year salary, he would have won at least one more NC.

I like the WFT scenario better. But same ballpark, I guess.

.... rhetorical, no answer required. Why would Harbaugh choose to be at PSU? Never happen.
Are you're trying to create a dramatic 'James needs more love' effect ?

You could have made this more objective with something like, "would you rather have the on-field results for Franklin or Harbaugh over the past decade?"

Harbaugh is a better game day coach, Franklin is a terrific ‘program builder/runner.’ I’d take Harbaugh if not for his wanting to go to the NFL. Think we’ve learned Franklin’s annual flirtations with leaving were more strategic than actual threat.

Fine with Franklin though I admire that Harbaugh - when asked to take a 50% pay cut to stay on as HC after a poor year - did so without issue and promptly took Michigan to the playoffs. His full salary was then restored. Franklin has a poor year and gets a 10 year deal and a promotion. We should all be so lucky. The good news for Franklin and PSU fans is the expanded CFP (and elimination of B1G Divisions) will help a ton with our playoff hopes and dreams.

Rather have franklin, harbaugh has a better track record so far. 3 teams turned around, 1 Super Bowl appearance, 2 cfps. Made Stanford a winner. Wow

Ask again after loss #1. Fans are fickle...and that could be a choice as well.
I'll be consistent and vote James. I think he's a great fit for PSU. However Harbaugh is equally suited to lead his Alma mater. He's won every where he's been.

I don't pay a lot of attention to non-PSU college football related social media (save @uscsonggirls who for some reason haven't posted anything to twitter since 2020!?!) but notice Michigan is quietly putting together a top ten class for 2024. Along with OSU, USC (weird seeing them in B1G team rankings) and PSU, the B1G have four of the current top ten recruiting classes (SEC has 3 - Bama, Florida, Georgia; then Clemson, Notre Dame, and Oregon). How 'active' is Harbaugh on social media? You wonder how much better Michigan would be if he were fully committed....

EDIT: Just checked - Harbaugh hasn’t tweeted anything since September 2020. Noticed Swinney, Day, and Saban aren’t on Twitter.

Oh, and...

Remember when he would never win the Big Ten (thats not a championship?) or beat Ohio State? Doubt the man at your own peril.
The B10 is not a National Championship. He will be lucky to beat OhowIhate this year and he will never win a National Championship.

Post Sandusky scandal, the university doesn’t condone sleep overs utilized as a recruiting strategy~ Thus, Hairbaugh is eliminated from any consideration

Objectively Harbaugh, since joining the B1G as a coach., has it over Franklin in head to head matchups, B1G titles, B1G East titles and CFP appearances. Why is this question asked?

Put on top of that Harbaugh’s NFL coaching record and the job he did at other colleges he even has a lead over Franklin in experience and accomplishment.
