Yes, and you really have no choice. When you lose players to the portal less than 2 weeks before signing day, when the bulk of recruits sign, there's no to time to address the needs through recruiting. I don't think many coaches like the portal, but to say that is a recruiting liability.

I don't know why the powers-that-be had to go from one extreme to the other. From being nearly impossible to transfer to an unbridled free-for-all. There were some common sense approached that would have loosened up the transfer process without making it the chaos that it is now, and one that is certainly rife with tampering.

I saw an excellent idea floated that would partially address some of the current absurdities: open the transfer portal after the bowls. That would mean players might have to spent the spring term at their current schools, but it would not prevent them playing someplace else the following year.

i would say a lot of people don't get the chadwell worship. that's why, of all the jobs that have been open the last several years, he ended up at liberty. not saying he won't eventually be a good p5 coach, but it's not just a few fans who didn't think he was ready for it. a bunch of ADs did as well.

Youth, and all his success has been in small ponds?

I believe IF he does a good job at liberty, his next step will be a P5 job.
