Wow. Florida 3 outs away to Omaha.

I hate Florida baseball about as much as I do ole miss Tennessee and Vandy baseball. They just gave me a reason to cheer for Clemson even more

Wow, a .250 hitter wins a game. Now there are two teams in the World Series that I can hate.

They have 2022 Ole Miss vibes but more talented. Sneak in the tournament after one and done in Hoover. Great NCAA tourney draw.
They didn’t sneak into the tourney. They had a Top 30 RPI and played a tough as hell schedule. 13 wins was definitely going to get them in, and they got it. Don’t think they were ever anywhere close to the bubble,

So if State had gone 28-27(13-17) do you think they would have made a regional? I know the answer. So no, I think the BS that IS the RPI is used inappropriately in selecting teams. Not now, not ever should any Los be more valuable than a win! That is how T-Ball kids get rewarded just for being on a team! Not how you reward 18-22 years old adults!

With UF’s metrics? Absolutely. We’ve actually gotten an at large at 12-18 in SEC play before.

You seem to be arguing that a team who has now proven itself by winning two regionals away from it's home field, should not have been in the tournament.

Let's just focus on Arizona being picked as a host...

The committee said Ole Miss was the last team to get in.

If State had gone 28-27 (13-17) this year, their RPI would've been a lot worse than FL's, so no, State wouldn't have gotten in, nor should they. Florida deserved to get in, and they have validated the decision by advancing.

RPI isn't perfect, but it's the best evaluation tool available. If State beats Sam Houston State and Florida loses to Arkansas, you don't just give State the edge because "wins are more valuable." That's stupid.
