7 yards. 5:10 time of possession. 1 first down via penalty.

Basically, the Bengals, Eagles and Cardinals all get do-overs. Wonder how much Marvin Lewis and Ryan are scheming for next week at this point - playing mind games now, not trying to put anything significant on film for the other team.

QB rating of 1.7. Holy shat. They should've just forfeited if they didn't give a **** about being there.

that Goodell is pissed about this and the fans get crapped on for what most teams amount to a preseason game. What the hell that means and what he does remains to be seen.

It is not like they could have predicted it would end this way.

what has happened this season but in general, where the starters sit sometimes with 2 weeks left. Again, I don't know what he will do about it but I think it was Peter King on the NBC pregame show.

Marvin Lewis decided he'd rather play the Jets than the Texans so he just took a dive tonight. If that's the case, then that, coupled with teams just packing it in the last 2 weeks, is definitely something the NFL should address, although I don't know what they can do.

Keep the playoff matchups based on regular season record like they are now, but give home field advantage to the team that closed the season out better (maybe go with most consecutive wins to close the season out or record in last 4 games or something like that). You wouldn't see teams resting their starters then. Not necessarily saying the NFL should do this, but it sure would make the last couple of weeks meaningful for teams that have clinched their playoff spot.

Don't automatically award home field advantage to division champions. More teams would play it out if they risked losing that home playoff game. And if two teams ended up tied, then the division championship could be #1 in the tiebreaker formula.

It ain't NFL if they don't. It's just **** then.

Maybe they should institute some sort of lottery system that makes playoff matchups uncertain untill al reg. season has been played.

I remember how pissed I was when my first NFL game was Steelers at Titans (in Memphis), last game of the season, and the Steelers sat The Bus and several other great players. I thnk they later won the Super Bowl that season.

I will disclose I am a Jets fan. However, all these discussions of trying to make every single game count the same amount are just STUPID. I call ******** on anyone saying the Bengals threw this game. The Jets defense is for real. The offense finally stayed committed in this game.

The whole discussion concerning the Colts last week and these other clinching teams this week was handled properly by each team as they chose. There are no guarantees no matter what decision a coach makes. The 20/20 folks are always going to be proved right since it already happened.

The analogy i make is that I was on line for space mountain in disney world. There was a family in front of us who knew there child was not tall enough. They kept telling him how to try an stand on his toes just as they put him up to measuring device. When they got to the front the operator was paying attention and would not allow the child on the ride. The family made a little scene, but gave up. I said to my wife, if that kid had gotten on and got hurt due to the restraints not being able to secure the kid, they would have been the first to sue and yell that they should have checked his height. Now more that likely nothing would happen to the kid who was 1/2 inch too short, because I am sure there is an allowance built into the size limit. But DisneyWorld can't take that chance, and teh parents really should not have either.

So if Caldwell plays his starters more than likely no one gets drastically hurt. But if Peyton Manning went down, what would the uproar have been then. Heck, the Dolphins did not have their starting QB Griese for a good portion of that perfect season. So playing a quarter and a half without Payton Manning and a few other starters should not guarantee a loss. However it is pretty obvious that if Payton can't play, they have no chance.

The first goal is to make the playoffs and each team has the freedom to best decide how to accomplish that. Once things are clinched, that have accomplished that goal and then need to decide how best to get through the playoffs. They do NOT have to take a chance, no matter how slight, to get their extremely important players hurt for a game that does not effect THEIR situation.

I think it is just an unlucky coincidence. The AFC vs. NFC matchups in Week 17 is a good idea whoever said that.

I definitely do not think the Bengals threw the game.
