Poor Vic... nobody’s showing up for his new team.

Some are speculating in the replies that he’s positioning himself for the A&M job by openly bashing Texas fan support.

I'd blame all those folks from California who've moved to Austin. No one supports Longhorns athletics because of them. **

His last 4 seasons at State we had top-10 attendance. Top-5 one year.

And women's basketball is a largely local crowd due to weekend games being on Sunday instead of Saturday. How many people in the Golden Triangle? 130k? How many people in Greater Austin? Over 2 million?

He specifically references drawing 9,000 people in a community of 25,000 and can’t draw a fraction of that in a city of 2 million.

You could have been a legend here, Vic. I don't blame you for chasing that dollar but I don't feel the least bit sorry for whatever happens after.

You know what's disappointing and frustrating? Blowing a huge lead in the national championship game.

They definitely swallowed their whistle late…

Officials contributed a lot. I'm still pissed about that Notre Dame game. Called right that would have been a NC for us.

But, Vic blew that game in the 3rd quarter by sitting key players and allowing the lead to evaporate instead of playing to win. The late no call ultimately cost us the game, but we never should have been in that position.

It sucks to have 2 fewer nattys in our trophy case, but ultimately I’m glad Vic didn’t get the honor of winning it all and Lemonis and the baseball team did.

Oh, I still get fired up about it too, but appreciate the Baseball one so much more now.

Baseball needed to be the first for University, we’ve had way too many opportunities in small ball.

They don't support mens bball either, or baseball. So it's not a surprise at all. Back in mid 2000s when men bball was top 15, the coliseum was always half full.
I mean, Vic is right to complain, but he chose a ****** fan base.

Let's be honest: there are perhaps 4 serious WBK programs and then a very deep drop-off. That ain't one of them

Nope, we had a huge lead and left it in the officials' hands at the end. That's on us. Screw Vic and his BS too. Wouldnt even keep his people in line. I hope he never sees another final four. Lord knows, we won't.

I tend to agree with this. I think Vic's plan all along was to stay at State until Blair had enough at TAM and he would step in. I have been skeptical of the rumors but it kind of makes sense now that Vic and Cohen had a dust-up, Texas came calling and threw a lot of cash at him and he took it. I can totally see Vic jumping to TAM next season because it is pretty obvious that texas fans don't give a crap about WBB.

The lack of coach speak is uniquely refreshing. This man would have a spot of my short list any day.
