"they spent too much time listening to their fat girlfriends telling them how great they were instead of listening to their coaches"...

Mike say:

On running up the score against Nebraska in 2004 (the final as 70-10):
"The interesting thing about football is that football is the only sport where you quit playing when you get a lead. In golf, you keep trying to score well when you're ahead. In basketball, they don't quit shooting when they're ahead. In hockey, they don't quit shooting when they're ahead. In boxing, you don't quit punching when you're ahead. But in football, somehow magically, you're supposed to quit playing when you're ahead. Well, I don't subscribe to that. I don't do it like that. And you know, the truth of the matter is, Nebraska never has either."</p>

After a quick google search, it appears this might have something to do with Craig James' son (who is on the team).

electrical closet after he had a concussion....They claim that a few days later he advised the trainers to again put him in a room dark room by himself......Basically saying that he punished their son for getting hurt...Supposedly the first incident occurred in front of the players........Stay tuned........

I'm wondering what his logic for doing this was. Surely the trainer did not suggest this, and surely the team neurosurgeon didn't. If they did, they should be fired immediately. And why would you punish someone for a concussion?

This just doesn't make any sense.

dark room with no lights on........If I was Leach, I'd be saying something similar...........In all honesty, I have no idea what's up with all of this......Surely there's something more to the story......Hopefully something that will exonerate Leach.....He's a great coach....

Apparently, James' son showed up at practice in street clothes, wearing sunglasses, and texting his buddies on facebook. When he complained about headaches from his recent concussion, Leach put him in the equipment room, where it was cool and out of the sunlight. My guess is, if this was anybody else besides Craig James' son, nothing would've come of this.

Also, all of Leach's former players are standing up for him and backing him, in contrast to Mangino.
