SC is a pretty good team. They just have the misfortune of playing this year in the best conference in the history of the sport. If they were in the ACC, they’d be in the top half of the conference. They are actually 3-0 against ACC teams this year, including Clemson, who is 8-1 and tied for first in the ACC standings. Winning at SC is a good win.Indeed. But “this team” (SCAR) was a hell of lot more talented last year, too.
this year they pretty much represent their winless conference record

Columbia is not a pretty city and it's hard to get around in. Not to mention it's the hottest place on the face of the earth in July/August. Campus is not attractive either. Five-Points area is pretty neat, though. Still, I don't even like to go thru Columbia much less to it, and I don't live that far away.I’m here at the game. Lower bowl section seats right at mid court. Empty seats all around me. Upper section probably 20% full. Hard to watch this game. USC campus is weird. Not really a traditional set up. Just a collection of admin buildings around downtown Columbia.
I disagree. SC is ok and would be lower 1/3 even if the SEC was having a down year.SC is a pretty good team. It’s the state capital, right? How does it compare to Jackson?Columbia is not a pretty city and it's hard to get around in. I would be much more comfortable going out in downtown soda city on a Friday night than jackson. It’s the state capital, right? How does it compare to Jackson?
