Brainless. Heartless. Soulless.

Emotionally weak transfers that shoot 15% after losing a close game.

We’re a good team. We don’t have great basketball talent but do have great athletes who happen to play basketball
Jans has certainly done better than Howland. Howland recruited more big time players, but Jans has done more with less. And we've shot the 3 better this year than last. Now, it's time to go out and get several BIG TIME 3 pt shooters that can move us up from a middling SEC team to the top 3rd section. The college game is now about 3 pt. shooters and rebounders. We'll just have to make that next step. I don't think Mizzou is 25-30 pts. better than us, but they were today. Can you imagine had we not gotten Hubbard to leave Ole Miss and come to us.....scary! I love Cam to death, but he gives us no 3 pt. threat at all, that other teams have at that same position. That will need to change next year. We need several 6'5" to 6'9" players who can shoot the 3 as good as Hubbard.

It appeared to me that Missouri, who lost every SEC game they played last year, had several of those players.

It should be possible to find one or two every year considering the league we play in. Instead, we always seem to have guys who look the part, but when the stats finish up, they don't play the part.

Where are all you guys that said the negative commenter's on here just didn't know basketball....hard to win on the road...its a hangover from the last game that we got our schitt pushed in....so and so has a hangnail...yada yada. You are either winning or losing and good teams don't get embarrassed repeatedly. You were wrong. This is a decent team. Not a good team. Period.

The last few sentences nailed this year's team. This is why I have waited until March to see if we can make a run. We don't have enough talent overall to run with the big dogs for this year's conference. There are a lot of them.

You're probably right, but at least use words that make sense. If this team is a Top 30 team, which they have been most of the season, then they are better than decent. They are good. Obviously if you are an NCAA Tourney team you are a good team. We've had decent teams and bad teams. A lot of them through the years. We know what that looks like. This is better than that.

This is the 1st time I’m saying that we’re not getting our money’s worth outta Jans. 4.2 million for this sh@t show is a joke
Jans is the basketball equivalent of Dan Mullen. Good coach, not a great coach. Same slouching posture. Wins at a high enough clip to get contract extensions from MSU that puts him in the upper salaries of college coaching (and deservedly so). ZERO loyalty to the school and interviews for every opening (this hurts everyone involved). Thinks he is too good for us and wants out of Starkville. Wins with defense (Although Dan’s forte was offense). Has probably priced himself salary-wise out of any “lateral move” that would not be a reduction in pay but has not won at a high enough clip to get a more prestigious job.

What other similarities am I missing?

We will just have to disagree on what is good. They are way over rated right now and too many sixpackers have bought into that even as we have watched them fall apart since SEC play started. We need better play and fewer excuses.

Welp, there are 364 D1 basketball teams. We are one of the 30 or so best of those. If that's not good, you're really limiting the good in your world.

And getting mad at Mississippi State fans on a Mississippi State board being overly optimistic about a good Mississippi State basketball team, considering what we've had the last 15 years, is pretty petty. I suspect you disagree with that opinion as well.

Had Calipari not gotten the Hogs job last year, Jans would have likely been their coach. And he wanted that job from all accounts.

I'm certainly not mad. My comment is meant to point out that overly optimistic posters here were saying other folks didn't know basketball if they complained about losing on the road or losing after a loss or criticizing the coaching etc etc. Appears to me maybe they didn't "know" basketball. Sure it's hard to win on the road. Esp if you are playing a team that is better than you are.
